We found this small Italian restaurant while on vacation in Maui. Gave it a try and the food was delicious and the service outstanding! This is a small family owned business according to some locals and has apparently only been open a few months. We got there at at about 6pm and by 630 every table was full. They are going to have to get a bigger place because their popularity is going to go through the roof. One suggestion that I would make would be for them to offer a basket of their amazing bread and a glass of water when guests are seated. Sort of like Outback does. It would be a nice touch and the ROI will be worth it.

Meh… not my favorite thing. Kind waitress and cute little atmosphere. Ordered the bolgenese after trying to order a few other things on the menu (all were not available). We got our meal to go and walked across the street to our hotel. The sauce was so hot and runny that it spilled over and soaked through the bag on my husband’s hands causing burns. The food tasted like it was microwaved in the foil. I could have driven down to the safeway and made it better myself, and gotten a bigger portion. The garlic bread was butter spray and Italian sauce on bread. Nothing was worth the 18$ a plate, but at least it was edible.

We happened to find this place on Google Maps when we were having a craving for Italian food in between lunch and dinner. This delicious place was perfect for us because we were on the go and didn’t want to sit down for a full restaurant experience. It’s a small place where you order from the counter, and there aren’t many tables inside. The food we got (Cream Primavera Fettuccini) was very good with variety of fresh vegetables inside. The people were very very friendly too. Would recommend!

My wife and I were on Maui for the week, and found this place in local restaurants when looking at our dining options for the week. We saw it was only about a mile away, and had pretty good reviews. So we tried to call and see about a reservation, but couldn’t get anyone to answer. After calling 4 times over over 2 days and never getting an answer we decided to just go check it out. If it was closed, there was always the food trucks down the road.

We arrived about 1915, and found they were indeed open. They had three tables, and only one was occupied, so we asked and were given a table and menus immediately. All the choices looked pretty good, and a short time later we gave our order; Marinara on penne with chicken for the wife, puttanesca with chicken for myself. We asked about drinks and were told water, bottled water, or canned soda. There is no wine and/or beer list. We ordered water for the both of us. We were then brought 4 pieces of garlic bread.

Here’s where it gets a little off…roughly 10 minutes after ordering, still not having received our beverages, I was brought my puttanesca. I figured I’d wait to ask for my wife’s food to come out to inquire about it, should be just a second behind, right? Nope. It was about 7 minutes till my wife’s food came out. In that time I inspected my dinner (since I was being all polite and what not to wait to eat), and didn’t see any chicken. I also noted a bit of liquid in the bottom of the bowl-plate, probably around 1/4-1/2 cup of red liquid the consistency of water. Finally after those 7 minutes they brought my wife’s marinara out. I asked about the beverages, and he said he would get that right away, went directly to the cooler (the same one they store their cans of grated Parmesan in) and got us two bottles of water (apparently your two choices of water are Kirkland Signature or something in a green bottle, Pellegrino). I then asked about the chicken on mine, and the waiter said “oh, you asked for chicken…” and he took my plate back to the kitchen. Now my wife has food, and I don’t.

Another ten minutes or so goes by. The whole time I’m watching my wife’s plate steam and lose heat, and she also noted the large about of red, watery liquid in the bottom. I tell her she should at least taste it, so she does, then offers me a taste. The flavor is good, great even, but the pasta is over cooked. Finally, my food comes back out, with 3 pieces of chicken proudly on top. My wife then asks if they can pour off the liquid from her plate as it’s really off-putting. Waiter says of course, and takes the plate back. Once again, I now have food, my wife doesn’t. It took what seemed like a couple minutes to remove the liquid, and finally my wife’s food returned and we both had food in front of us (although hers now has an extra helping of canned Parmesan shake over the top of hers).

The flavor was good, I will absolutely give them that. However, the rest of the experience played like someone had told a bunch of middle schoolers what a trattoria was, they then watched some YouTube videos and were like “we can totally do this!” (because they made spaghetti a few times), and then their parents rented out some restaurant space the same way one might buy a table for a child’s lemonade stand. I think someone mentioned something to the same kids about “al-dente”, and they all agreed it sounded very important, but then left it at that.

As I said, the flavor was good, great even. But the pasta was over cooked, the sauce had entirely too much runny liquid, the service was incredibly awkward, they don’t even hide the canned shake-on Parmesan, and I couldn’t even catch a buzz while watching this sh*t show. Would I go back? Probably not. I’d just cruise another 2 minutes down the road and see what was up with the food trucks, or go down the sidewalk to Fish Market Maui and get some mahi or a’u.

Disclaimer: we did not have the pizza. I told my wife from my experiences living here, this state can be an odd place at times. I think they did a bang up job of showing her that.

This is the best food I had while in Maui. Fresh. Well seasoned. Beautifully cooked. I had the puttanesca with shrimp and the lava cake. I wish I had found it earlier during my visit.

Absolutely Delicious!! A gem of a find! Artichoke, bacon pasta was a rare treat! Coming back for the homemade tiramisu- it wasn’t quite ready yet! A great reason to come back!

Great little spot! We dined in and had pastas which were fresh and flavorful. Later on, we returned for late night pizza and pasta which were equally as good.

Stopped by this afternoon with a party of 7 to grab some lunch. Everything our party got was really good. From pizzas to salads to pasta, everything we ordered was very good and flavorful. Would definitely go back. Service was fast and the staff was very friendly and welcoming as well.

Several places were closed but this little gem was open, right across the street and for a small place, don’t let that fool you.

We were greeted promptly and menu’s ready. Helpful, friendly, giving us island information, very gracious.

Food came out quick. Not like throw it in the microwave, heat up quick but efficient. All dishes were fresh, not mushy, sauce was perfect, nice portions and very flavorful.

More than pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a try. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
