ordered pick-up for an acai bowl using their business preferred site. came to an empty store and let the woman at the counter know my name, she looks at the one takeout bag they had, says “we didn’t get that order” then proceeds to just stand there not checking anything orders would pop up on to double-check my order wasn’t missed or something. she didn’t offer any solution and i only had time to get my food and get back to work so i told her i couldn’t wait and would need a refund.
a few minutes into my drive back to work the manager calls me to inform me that they did have my order but mixed it up with a doordash order and said i could come back and get it or he could deliver it. i was hesitant because my next work location was far away and didn’t want to make him drive so i requested a refund. manager said they physically need the card to refund me even tho i ordered online? i got frustrated and hung up to finish my drive. the manger continued to call me while at work, so my supervisor allowed me to step away to take the call.
the manager again explains there was a mix up with a doordash order because “they were both acai bowls” which is annoying because OH WOW you’re telling me more than one person orders acai bowls at a SMOOTHIE PLACE?!
when i tried to explain to the manager that i wasn’t upset about the mix-up, i’m upset about the woman lying saying “we didn’t get your order” and her unwillingness to inquire about my missing order, the manager kept trying to correct me saying it was a mix-up and refusing to understand my issue. i specifically told him: there’s a difference between being told “we didn’t get your order” and “we gave your order to someone else” HUGE DIFFERENCE! so i asked: if it was a mix-up, why was i told my order wasn’t received at all? why did his employee not double-check their systems or ask me to see my email receipt or do anything to figure out where my order was? the manager continued to argue with me and say “but we got your order but the doordash also had an acai bowl” and not listen to a single word i said so i just gave him the address to deliver it to end the conversation.
EDIT: seeing their response, they clearly lack accountability. now ANOTHER lie, because i was told the DD was an acai bowl as well which is why it was mixed up. now it looks EVEN WORSE that y’all mixed up 2 orders with 2 DIFFERENT items ordered thru DIFFERENT websites. also, to-go orders are kept bagged BEHIND the counter out of customer’s reach where an employee has to HAND IT OVER, so if it’s anyone’s fault for mixing up the DD order it is Vara Juice employees. not me and not the DD driver. instead of making up all these lies and excuses, just say your employee messed up and y’all need to adjust your order confirmation protocols. i did everything on my part, placed the order with ample time to have my food prepared, paid for my food WITH a tip, and requested my order on pick-up with all pertinent information, everything else is on the business. i was only in there for 21 seconds cuz it only took 5 to realize the woman at the counter didn’t care to investigate. any other place immediately asks “where’s you’re receipt?” but she said “we didn’t get an online order” and left it at that. sorry i didn’t have time to hold your employee’s hand thru basic problem-solving. next time a customer has a complaint, actually listen to their concerns rather than assume what they’re upset about or belittling the issue.
