Our Haunted Travels – PANICd
We stopped at this location while we spent a couple of days around the Kent, Ohio, area. It was a warm October day, and we went inside to obtain something to drink. Unfortunately, the restaurant was about to close, but we were able to get drinks anyways. The staff was so nice and treated us with much respect. The next time we are in the area, we are going to make a point to stop and consume some breakfast or lunch.

First time here. It’s a gem of a place. It’s unique inside. We got breakfast. Elk Sausage. Breakfast crossant with bacon and egg and potatoes. Got the big boy breakfast with depot pancake. This pancake was huge. Sourdough toast. All was amazing. We got hot tea and coffee. They came out in cute mugs. You can also donate coffee mugs i was looking around and everyone had different mugs. The server he was great. They had 6 or 8 different teas to pick from. I picked the earl gray. The coffee flavor was southern pecan it tasted great and smelled even better. The food came out hot we also tried their cinnamon roll mini waffle for an appetizer those melted in your mouth. We will be back

Over Easy at the Depot is one of those rare brunch spots that gets everything right – food, atmosphere, and consistency.
Housed in a beautifully restored historic depot, the space is warm, inviting, and full of character without feeling gimmicky. It’s the kind of place that immediately puts you at ease, whether you’re settling in for a slow weekend brunch or just grabbing coffee and something comforting to eat.
The menu is outstanding across the board. Every dish is clearly made with care, from perfectly cooked eggs and creative breakfast plates to rich, satisfying flavors that never feel heavy or overdone. Portions are generous without being excessive, and presentation is always on point. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they send out.
Service is another strong point – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Even when it’s busy, the staff keeps things moving smoothly and makes you feel like a regular, not a number.
For Danni and me, it’s a go-to for a reason. Over Easy at the Depot consistently delivers an exceptional brunch experience and stands out as one of the best spots in Kent. Easily worth repeat visits – and then some.

If I lived here, we would go to Over Easy at the Depot often! The restaurant is located in a beautiful old train station building, which adds to its charm. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the breakfast was amazing.
I loved the vibes of this place, and the food did not disappoint. We stopped here while driving from Pittsburgh to Chicago, and it was worth the short detour. My wife got a breakfast charcuterie board and was thrilled with it. My chorizo burrito was delicious and filling!
I doubt I’ll ever be in Kent, Ohio, again, but if I were, I’d definitely go back.

Second time here, neither time did we think the food was outstanding. Good but not great, lacking some flavor. I also thought the $3.90 Coke was high for such a place. On the upside, a very unique menu, service was friendly and the building was an old train station in a great location along the Cuyahoga River.

Decided on a whim to stop for brunch with the Misses while in the Kent area, did a quick search, and she found this wonderful place. The location is attractive and unique. The food was very tasty the service was polite, prompt & attentive. The facilities were clean both in the dining area and the restrooms. The food here is fresh well prepared and tasty. Be forewarned the servings here are large you most certainly get your monies worth especially those Pancakes they are as large as the plate they come on! They have elk sausages that are pricey but delicious and sized appropriately for the price this may or may not be a seasonal menu option. So if they are not available at the time of your visit I’m sorry. I would say this is definitely a spot that if you are in the area you should give a visit.

My (American) friends brought me over to this place to make me try a typical American breakfast, and I love it ! It was my first time for candied bacon and chicken & waffles, I was amazed by every dish on the menu. We also had a really nice waitress and the old train station gives off a great atmosphere. In the end, the food was so fulfilling, I didn’t have to eat for the entire day.

When we entered, the host was pleasant. We sat immediately, and they brought out tap water(a no for me, but okay if that’s your thing), so I had the blueberry coffee with cream and raw cane sugar. There is no shortage of food on your plate
My husband had the pancake, bacon, and scrambled eggs. I had the chicken and waffles. I was excited they had Frank’s hot sauce and not Tabasco. They serve their coffee in cute creative mugs, so no one seemed to be the same. Our server was delightful and wore a pair of the cutest sunflower earrings. Kindest person in the place, it seems ❤️ keep shining! Overall, we will go back next time and try other menu items.
