Child-Friendly Spot with Great Views of Mystic

We stopped by Inn at Mystic / Rocks 21 and were really impressed with the setting. Perched on a hill, the restaurant overlooks all of Mystic, offering some of the best views in town both indoors and from the deck outside.

The atmosphere is very family-friendly — the kids loved it and felt welcome right away. The food was solid and satisfying: classic American staples like flatbread pizza, chicken tenders, and burgers with fries, all done well and presented nicely.

What makes this place special, though, is the location and vibe. Whether you’re sitting inside by the big windows or outside on the deck, the views are just beautiful and add so much to the experience.

Overall, a really good child-friendly bar/restaurant with amazing views and a relaxed feel. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Mystic.

All 4 of our meals were excellent including the appetizers. Servers were friendly and attentive. My scallops casserole was very good with 6 scallops, crab stuffing and a lobster sauce. Came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Highly recommend.

Came here for my husbands birthday. Evan our server was amazing. He went above and beyond to tell the band that was playing that we were celebrating. The soup clam chowder was AMAZING so fresh and rich and large portion! I also opted for a souvenir mug too! The spinach artichoke dip was also wonderful. Super creamy, rich and full of flavor. We got two drinks. I forgot the names but my husband finished his and mine was so refreshing. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to eat as much as I would have liked to because one of my medical conditions was flaring up. The fish and chips was delicious! Lightly breaded and fresh. The lemon made it taste even better. The chicken Marsala was wonderful! The chicken was tender. I loved the mushrooms. My husband enjoyed the potatoes. I really enjoyed the spinach. I wasn’t crazy about the sauce hence 4 stars. The dessert which was a brownie sundae was also ok. The Icecream and whipped cream were great! Overall I would def come back and try dining when I’m not in a flare! The live band was also so much fun and a wonderful touch! The view was beautiful as well!

Scallop casserole was one of the worst dishes I’ve ever tasted. Too salty, no crab flavor. Potatoes were blah. Asparagus was decent. Dominique was a fabulous waitress.

Very nice atmosphere out on the deck. Service was solid and the food was great. We had lunch there and then returned for dinner a few days later. All meals were very good.

I recently visited Rocks 21, and while the food was just okay, with very fishy fish and chips and clam strips that were mostly batter, the atmosphere made up for it. Once the first performer, whose songs had excessive cussing, left, the place really improved. However, the server kept forgetting to bring out our drinks, which was frustrating. The band that played afterward was amazing and brought great energy. It’s a fantastic spot for happy hour or late-night live music, but I wouldn’t return for dinner.

Service was a bit slow considering the number of people. Food was good. Would return.

I am very pleased from start to finish. Food, service, drinks, and view are spectacular. Great place for a date night or a large party, even events. I can’t wait to go back. I may even spend a night.

Beautiful view on the deck. Had the sweetest very attentive staff. Food was absolutely delish. Tried the swordfish that had a Frangelico cream sauce which I never like sauce on fish…I completely devoured it it was so unique and tasty without overpowering the dish. The flatbread with peaches & prosciutto and the coconut shrimp were perfectly made. The frozen mudslide was so good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Let’s start off with apps, the bacon wrapped scallops were quite delicious; especially with that citrus honey maple mustard, it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty.
We also got the spinach and artichoke dip with chips; the dip was very sour cream forward and underseasoned. We added salt and it definitely evened things out.
My daughter got the cheese flatbread and said it was very good and my son got the Mac & Cheese, I can’t say how either of those were as a person with Celiac I couldn’t taste them.
For my main entree I got the Grilled Scallop Platter, the scallops were cooked beautifully but the Risotto was underseasoned and a tad underdone. I didn’t pick up any hint of truffle oil, and the dish could have used a little acid to round it out. I squeezed some lemon on it and that boosted up the flavor, but I wish the truffle had shown through more.
My husband got the Haley Mansion Seafood Fra Diavlo in the white wine sauce. The shrimp were huge. He said the seafood was cooked perfectly and it was very flavorful, he was genuinely happy with his dish.
The downside was the flies, they were swarming our table like bees; at one point we had 4 of them buzzing around us. It was frustrating, obnoxious and quite honestly a bit gross with them landing on our food. We spent most of the time swatting them away. In one of the videos you can even see them flying around our plates.
