Last night I went to Nobo in Teneack for my Mom’s birthday. As always, mad genius chef Joshua Massin out did himself.

Our visit to Nobo felt less like “going out to eat” and more like being invited into a thoughtfully choreographed experience.

Let’s start with the vibe. Dark, intimate, warm lighting. A room that hums, not loudly, but confidently. Conversations flow, glasses clink, and time politely steps aside. This is a place that understands that good food is only half the story; the rest is how it makes you feel while you’re eating it.

The menu? Playful, serious, and soulful all at once. The steak arrived beautifully cooked, unapologetically rich, with sauces that knew when to speak and when to stay quiet. I went for medium, I would recommend you request medium-rare.

The duck patte is a unique experience for kosher and the tongue slider as well was mouthful of flavor and something that sets Nobo apart.

The burger hit that sweet spot, comfort food elevated without losing its soul. I like the truffle popcorn on the table. Someone in that kitchen cares deeply.

And the wine program deserves its own applause. Thoughtful selection, well-priced, and clearly curated by someone who actually drinks kosher wine.

What stood out most, though, was the feeling. Nobo isn’t trying to impress you. It’s inviting you to settle in. To linger. To be present. In a world obsessed with speed and spectacle, that’s a radical act.

If you’re looking for a kosher restaurant that understands atmosphere, flavor, and the quiet power of getting it right, Nobo delivers.

I had a great time with two friends.

We got a bunch of appetizers that I forgot to photograph. The duck liver was such a great blend of smooth and crunchy, the riblets were divine.

Each steak was absolutely delicious and we all enjoyed immensely.

The service was top notch and overall we were very happy with our experience.

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience you won’t forget, with an interesting menu that isn’t too interesting but instead different takes on classics with new spins, this is the place for you.

Their wine menu was also exquisite.

We all highly reccomend this spot for an incredible evening.

The restaurant is beautiful! I got the short ribs and it was amazing! The home made mash potatoes were incredible and the staff are the nicest! Good people here. Dante the bartender makes a killer Pina Colada. I highly highly recommend!

I remember going to the old Nobo and finally made The trip north to try it again since it reopened. Absolutely fantastic. Their staple appetizer, lamb riblets are on the menu and they did not disappoint. I also ordered the cowboy steak which was tender and delicious. Definitely worth the trip.

Having spent a number of years trying restaurants in the area, as well as exposure to high-end restaurants in the business world – I can firmly state that the return of Nobo is great for Teaneck.

Service: I was seated by the hostess promptly after arriving and was immediately offered water, bread and a menu by the waitress. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and was able to explain which dishes were lower-carb or lower-sugar dishes (without having to ask the kitchen each time.)

I started my meal with a tuna crudo, which had a buttery texture topped with yuzo, the soy/citrus combo that made this pop. I asked the waitress to suggest a wine pairing for the tuna, and was offered a white wine from New Zealand, which really paired well. We were promptly offered a second glass upon finishing the glass, but chose not to indulge.

I was sharing the entrees with another two guests, so we had the opportunity to try several of their specialties, including the sous vide chicken breast. This was the juiciest chicken breast I have ever had. I liked the waffle, with the creamy sauce that seems like something i just cannot make at home. We were testing the wine pairing knowledge of the waitress, and she delivered with a Sancerre white wine pairing, a crisper, less buttery mouthfeel and bursting with fruity notes and spices.

The lamb riblets were served shortly after the chicken, and were the riblets I remember from the original Nobo – flavorful and juicy. This dish was paired with the really great Adir red wine from Keren ben Zimra. Shortly after this dish was dropped off, the koji ribeye was brought to our table as well, and was cooed exactly the way we ordered it, medium rare.

Throughout our evening, the staff were extremely attentive, checking on us 2-3 minutes after dropping off food, making sure we had everything we needed – water refills, napkins, forks and so on.

The Dining room is spacious, with more breathing room than the old setup and the music is good, not too loud – i could hear my conversation with my friends well, but without feeling that we were talking too loudly. The redesign with dark grey and shiny accents isn’t my favorite, but it looks nice and appropriate.

I am glad that this spot has returned to the Teaneck scene and we have a high-end hospitality option, for business meetings and special occasions that excel at all times.

The food here was fine, but not remarkably good, and it’s not made up for with large portion sizes either. For the prices, I expected better. I would recommend the duck, which was very good.
There was also a very long wait for the entrees and dessert.
The waiters were very helpful, friendly and polite, and the ambience is very nice and upscale. The menu also has lots of interesting variety.

Very very cool and unique kosher resturant serving asain-fusion cuisine.

Each plate was very unique and not just another resturant.

If was a journey and we were pleasantly surprised how much proper spice was in the food.

Definitely reccomended!

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. It took about 15 minutes before anyone even came to our table, and when someone finally did, we were told the delay was because there was only one person taking orders later in the evening. For a restaurant charging these prices, that excuse just made the experience feel even more unprofessional.
The pasta was extremely unpleasant — the flavor was so off that it was genuinely hard to eat. The crispy sweetbreads arrived soft, soggy, and nothing like what was described. The chicken dish was also supposed to be extra crispy, yet it was bland, lacked texture, and was not enjoyable at all.
On top of that, the drink came in a tiny cup — barely a third of a can — and still somehow cost $5.
For the price and the way the menu was described, the quality and execution were a huge disappointment. I really wanted to enjoy this place, but overall the service, food, and value were all extremely poor. Definitely not worth returning.
