I had tried their food today (Aug 30, 2025) for the first time, started off small with a kids meal (I didn’t know what I was going to get myself into) and it was actually very good. I’m looking forward to having their food again!

I ordered here today and my fish looked like the grease was either to dirty or they dipped that fish in grease warm it meaning they not that fresh. I spent 42 dollars on a fish wick combo in a po boy sandwich the po boy the gave me two small shrimps in a gang of bread wit a bunch of honey mustard n old lettuce. They passed the phone to three people before I could take my order. They need a new manager over there badly.

Went to this Docks on a Monday early afternoon. The service was super fast. The food was hot and good however, I really didn’t care for the tartar sauce. It seemed to be a little runny, and they charge $.75 for cheese overall good experience had a # 1 meal.

I just moved in this area and found one of my favorite restaurants, “Dock’s.” I call and order my “Fish-Wish” sandwich. Customer service is so down home professional, ok! I already know the rest of their food is the Bomb!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to the cook Willie! I had to ask the cashier for the cook name. The fish and chips were amazing. He fried the fish hard just like I asked.

The Fishwich sandwich is a Chicago Classic!
Dock’s has a very tasty, freshly made, fried fish sandwich,
The Fishwich!
They also have delicious Perch, Catfish, and Shrimp dinners, but the Fishwich & Docberry Shake are the best!
It’s mainly carryout, but there is a small seating area that is usually available. Parking on the street and in the free lot across the street.
A combo w/ shake is under $20 and worth every bite & sip

Going to Dock’s reminded me of the past! Dock’s used to be everywhere! There are only three locations left. Some old empty buildings are still around.
I remember taking a co-worker (Jennifer) to lunch at Dock’s on east 75th street back in the 90s. We’d eat Dock’s, drive to the lake and then make out. The whole car smelled like fish afterwards.
Well, the service at this Dock’s is great and the Fishwich meal tasted exactly like I remember it! It was simply delicious! The service was great too. Dock’s really isn’t a dine in place but this location is always clean. You have a clear view of the guys selling illegal cigarettes in the Popeye’s lot across the street on 35th street if you want to people watch. The African American art in the lobby is a nice touch!
Hmm. I have see if I can find Jennifer’s old number now.

I love spots that are hood even if they’re not located there. This new Dock’s lives up to the legacy started over 30 years ago. They are slow. Real slow. 20 to 30 minutes slow. Make sure your phone is charged so you have something to do. The waiting room is nice. I can’t call it a dining room because no one really ever eats there. They still have the best fish in town but I’m afraid I’ll have to give it to King Fish for the best shrimp. All in all it brings back a lot of fond memories and it’s still the best “dashboard cuisine” in the City.
