Hawthorne’s New York Pizza and Bar is an excellent Italian restaurant in North Carolina. The food is Amazing! As soon as you walk in the establishment, you are greeted by Gracie’s and welcomed to feel at home. The server, Amelie, was pleasant and attentive with the order, smiling throughout. Additionally, the manager, Carol, made a point to stop by and ensure we were happy and enjoying the experience. I’m an out-of-towner and stopped by three times. Before I leave town, I’m sure I’ll be back; everything on the menu looks and tastes like a 5-star rating. Thank you!

I ordered the “Crew Pizza” (New Yorker) with chopped meatballs and Italian sausage. The pizza dough was perfectly crunchy in all the right spots and had a great flavor. The toppings were fresh, generous, and packed with taste.
Visited at 2 PM on a Saturday, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. Justin, our server, was attentive and did an awesome job multitasking. Great experience overall!
Definitely worth multiple returns.

WARNING – Don’t order a brownie unless you’re ok with being seriously disappointed. Ordered take out and good thing I decided to check my Chicken Alfredo before leaving – they forgot to include the chicken but fixed it without issue. Total order for 2 was $70.30. Got home and immediately regretted adding a $6.99 Brownie A la Mode. It was smaller than half the size of a playing card and not quite 3/4″ thick. For $7.00 – are you kidding me – NEVER AGAIN!

Hungry for pizza stopped in to order a pizza to go, and no one would help me finally win. The lady at the takeout counter got through talking to her boyfriend in the kitchen we could see her a bit. She had her back to everyone in the takeout lobby. After standing with other guest staring, wondering if someone would notice us I asked her to see a menu. She gave me a menu, but then walked away just so unfriendly. I’m leaving now going back to Papa John’s. Don’t come here if you are looking for friendly service

Garlic knots were amazing! The kids enjoyed their personal pizzas! I ordered the sausage and pepperoni Sicilian and it was very good! Our waiter was great! Would definitely eat here again!

Worst customer service experience ever. We ordered two pizzas online for our Halloween bonfire. We placed the order at 3pm for a scheduled delivery between 5:10-6:20pm. At some point we received a text from the delivery driver stating that the restaurant was very backed up and taking a long time to get orders out. No problem. We knew it was Halloween and they were busy. We’re reasonable people. An hour later, our delivery driver reaches back out and basically says he’s seeing lots of other orders leave but ours seems to be missing. We call the restaurant and are told that the order wasn’t ready and they had no idea how long it would take. At this point, the delivery driver had been waiting for an hour and decided to decline the order so he could move onto other orders. We call the restaurant back again to get a status and are told they don’t know what the status is and ask us if we’d like a refund. At this point, we have a group of people to feed and no other dinner option, so we told them we’d still like our order. It wasn’t until our THIRD call to the restaurant that the kid on the phone said they couldn’t find our order in the kitchen lineup so it wasn’t being made. He offered to cancel the order. I asked if the order could still be made and delivered to us and his response was “I’ll see if we can do that. Call us back if it hasn’t been delivered by 8.” Absolutely ridiculous. We paid $70 for 2 pizzas and a good tip for the driver. Placed our order at 3pm, received it right around 8pm and the pizza was cold. NEVER AGAIN.

This place has delicious NY style pizza, even the crust is perfect, flops just right. We had the philly cheese steak pizza(special), white pizza with pepperoni, kids pepperoni, and kids honey glazed chicken. It was phenomenal and I am a harsh pizza critic. Oh I almost forgot we also got Garlic knots and they are a must have. This place impresses me each time we visit. I highly recommend and please do yourself a favor and get the Garlic knots

Updated Review: I dined in with my in-laws and ordered wings in on the super bowl. I have to update my review purely on the fact that they have the best Chicken Wing I’ve ever bought from a restaurant. Both times they are huge, crispy, and delicious. Sucks that their pizza first time around tarnished it, but glad I tried again. Changing to 4 stars. My first experience prevented me from moving to 5.

I placed an order for delivery and it was not correct. When you call the restaurant’s 866 number you get an AI and can only leave a message. I have yet to receive a call back. The pizza is good but if you can’t reach anyone to resolve an issue with your order – then I will think twice about ordering from them again. Now I have to go through the credit card company to dispute a charge. A big hassle that could be resolved if a human would pick up the phone!

We really like the food and convenience of this location. Long time customers. Recently take out orders have become a real hassle. Notifications are not synced with when the order is ready for pick up. Very inconvenient. Also, if a group of us order calzones where one chooses, another chooses pepperoni or meatball or otherwise, they do not mark the box of which is which so we have to cut into each other’s food to figure it out.
