The egg mayo chicken here is absolutely amazing! The crispy texture, combined with the rich egg mayo sauce and spicy peppers, is just perfect. I order it every time I come—this is already my third visit! This time, I also tried the new gopchang jeongol and snowflake donkatsu. The gopchang jeongol wasn’t really my thing, but the snowflake donkatsu was incredible. And their pizza? Easily one of the best I’ve ever had! Surprisingly, it wasn’t too crowded during dinner, which I don’t get—this place is a total hidden gem. Honestly, one of the best spots I’ve been to!

This is a Korean gastropub that opened up last year. It’s still kind of unknown since when we went, it wasn’t very busy. This place is not huge and seating can be limited, depending on the day and time you go. Like other reviewers said, the service is top notch. They are very attentive and kind. The parking lot is shared with other businesses. Prices are very fair. Food portions are generous, you won’t go hungry. We ordered bulgogi japchae, half shrimp half bulgogi k-pizza, snowy pork cutlet, honey garlic bone-in wings, and ice fruit punch bowl.

-bulgogi japchae 5 – it has a bit of a kick to it but it’s very good. Bulgogi was plentiful.
-half shrimp half bulgogi k-pizza 5 – star of the show. I really loved that pastry crust and it was cheesy too. One k-pizza is not enough.
-snowy pork cutlet 5 – very large portion. Pork cutlet with cheese. The meat was tender.
-honey garlic wings 5 – very crunchy skin and meaty. Honestly, as long as you order any kind of wings you’ll be good. The meat was tender and succulent.
-ice fruit punch bowl 5 – this is a good dessert at the end of a heavy meal but it is huge. Best to share this with 3 or more people. There is some ice cream inside that ice in the middle.

I went to Fun Beer King for the first time back in November. The interior was chill and pretty small compared to the other Korean pubs. When we got seated, they served “ramyunttang” as a complimentary, which was tasty and nostalgic. My friends and I tried the half shrimp & bulgogi pastry pizza, honey garlic boneless ($25.99), and spicy fish cake soup ($24.99). I loved the slight kick that the spicy fish cake soup gave. It was perfect on a chilly day. I like my bone-in chicken, but the boneless chicken was pretty solid. For the pizza, surprisingly, I loved the flaky texture of the pizza crust. It exceeded my expectations. Nothing really called my name on the menu at first, but I’m excited to go back and try other items on the menu. It’s a place with a fun and modern twist to Korean pub food!

I went to its opening night. All the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great just like an authentic Korean pub you could experience in Korea. Portions were big enough to share with your friends and their dishes were creative and scrumptious. Definitely coming back to try different dishes from the menu!

I went to the grand opening with my friends today, and every dish we tried was amazing! It totally took me back to my college days in Korea, hanging out at bars. Had such a great time with everyone, and I’m definitely going back soon to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!

5 star service and atmosphere, 4 star food. Definitely will come back to try other things!

New place so not many specific food reviews so I’ll elaborate on some dishes:
Fried chicken: very crispy, juicy inside came fresh and hot – love that they give a honey garlic dipping sauce even with the regular chicken – would recommend 5/5
Snails: super spicy but yummy, noodles came overcooked and clumped together tho- tasty but if you can’t handle super spicy then definitely pass – 4/5
Pizza: if you’re expecting real pizza then don’t order. It’s puff pastry (thinner and weaker than thin crust) with some toppings. Decent as a shared anju/appetizer but not memorable and we will skip next time 3/5

Ambiance is great though music is a touch too loud – you can still hear your table if you speak loudly though. Clean modern vibes with a private room too (saw seating for 6). Great vibes and super friendly staff – we will be back to try other items!

I visited as soon as I heard that Fun Beer King, which is also famous in Korea, was opening here. The food was delicious as expected, and the beautifully presented bingsu was a standout. The atmosphere was perfect for enjoying drinks, and I’m thrilled to finally have an authentic Korean-style bar in Chicago—something hard to find here! I think I’ll be coming back often.

I had an incredible dining experience at Funbeerking last night! I was so impressed with their new menu, which offers a fantastic variety of options. It was clear a lot of thought and creativity went into crafting each dish.
I highly recommend starting with the Sotteok Sotteok. For my main course, I ordered the chicken with eggmayo with chilli.

The staff was also wonderful—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the new menu. The ambiance was great, too, making it the perfect spot for a special night out or just a delicious meal. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their new dishes!

We came back and had Whole Squid Spicy Noodle Soup with draft beers. The soup was great—its spicy taste blended well with the seafood. It kept us drinking, and soju might have been an even better choice.

The food was authentic Korean anju style, perfect with alcohol. The fresh interior and energetic staff added to the good vibes.
