Well my birthday didn’t go as plan. I was suppose to spent the day at EPCOT, but my knee has not been working with me.
I didn’t get out until later in the evening. I had tried to make a reservation for my birthday at La Luce, but they were booked solid. That night, I decided to try again anyway, and they had an opening.
I was seated at a cozy table by the window. My Premier Server Heather was nothing less than perfect!
This was my birthday dinner, so nothing was off the table. We started with a wine. I personally prefer sweet wines, some call them dessert wines. Heather had just the recommendation and it was perfect! I took a picture so I can add it to my collection.
Next we went over their holiday specials. I liked them all, but went with Heather’s recommendations.
Now the soup was my selection. I had never heard of nor had a Salmon Chowder, so that was my starter. It was filled with hearty chunks of Salmon, and a little spicy, but oh so good. I finished my bowl, and that says it all.
Now Heather recommended the Crab Cakes. I love crab legs, so I thought why not. They were good, but just not for me.
My main course was one of my favorites Scallops. When they brought my entree and I saw those three Scallops, I thought I’m glad I had some soup.
However, this entree was so smooth , delicious, and absolutely filling. I told my sister it was sexual. People watching me would have thought they were seeing a remake of “When Harry met Sally.” I don’t have words for how good this Scallop Entree was, and I had leftovers. Bless you Heather for the recommendation.
Since this was my birthday they treated me to their signature dessert a Butterscotch Pudding, and when I tell you this was AMAZING, I mean AMAZING! I had a little taste in the restaurant, but the next morning oh my goodness, what a TREAT La Luce you all out did yourselves with this dessert.
If you visit La Luce, PLEASE leave room-no-make room for the Butterscotch Pudding. You will not regret it!
Thank you Heather for a stellar birthday dinner experience.
The meal starts strong with fresh, warm complimentary bread paired with high-quality olive oil. Simple, but done right. The menu shines across the board, including surprisingly robust kids’ meal options, which is rare and appreciated. Every entrée we tried was solid, but the spaghetti was the standout. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and clearly made with care.
A huge practical plus is that it was never busy. We were seated immediately every time, with no wait or stress, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was dim and calming.
The biggest pro, by far, was the service. Santiago was exceptional. Attentive, proactive, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. He even went next door to a nearby restaurant to track down buffalo sauce for one of our meals. That is above-and-beyond service, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
Cons? Honestly, none. La Luce gets it right on food, service, and overall experience. We would happily return.
I ordered the Vesuvio Alla Bolognese, and it was absolutely delicious : rich duck & meat ragu, creamy burrata, and perfectly cooked pasta.
Cocktails were great as well.
Highly recommend for a relaxed dinner with amazing food and ambience.
