My husband and I rarely have time to date nights due to our boys’ very busy sports schedules. I must say this was a very memorable date nights we’ve for us both. Walking in, I immediately loved the ambiance and vibe. The detail of the light fixtures, bar, wall hangings, and even the blue velvet chairs and booths was right up my alley.
Robert was our waiter and he did a fantastic job with explaining the dishes, he told us about the family businesses and knew history and facts about the dishes that impressed the heck out of me! He kept checking in on us, making sure we had drinks and water and nicely boxed up our take home items at the end of dinner/desert.
My husband started off with escargot which is rare to find as well as a half dozen oysters which he absolutely loved! The warm bread with specialty herb seasoned butter was also a great appetizer for me as it took me several minutes to decide what I wanted. Everything looked so good! I finally chose the chicken with saffron risotto and Chris ordered the pork chop. Although they weren’t huge portions, we thought the food was so incredibly delicious and beautifully presented and we did have some to bring home. I also had to try the homemade sorbet at the end of the meal. Even though I was stuffed, it was so light and delicious that it ended up being a great end to our meal.
I would definitely recommend The Fair to anyone needing a place for a date night or to catch up with friends!

Had a nice dinner this evening at The Fair! All around amazing experience, very delicious food, an amazing team, Garrett and Emma were super friendly and helpful guiding us through the menu! Started with a whiskey sour and finished with a socialite martini! Both 10/10! The Ice Platter was everything you could dream! My top favorite dish this evening was the grilled oysters! Thanks for the great experience and keep up the great work! New Albany’s finest!

Went here in a group of 6 for my mom’s birthday. She mentioned it was her birthday when making the reservation, but they didn’t even seat us in a booth, we were sat at an extra table in the front with little room. The ambiance was nice in the rest of the room though.
The complimentary butter and bread were very good. And the meatballs were great, but that and the cream spinach were the only things there that had any seasoning. The Salmon and potatoes were just raw fish and boiled potato, not even salt.
The meatballs were an okay size, but the actual entree portions were very scarce. The Alfredo was like 12 noodles and 3 cherry tomatoes. The food is criminally overpriced for what you actually get. If it was cheaper, they would have gotten a higher rating because the Alfredo wasn’t all that bad.
The service wasn’t bad either, but a little weird. He did say she gets a dessert for her birthday, but that was the only time he acknowledged it. We also tried to make jokes with him to fill the space while deciding what to order and share what we liked/wanted and he ignored the jokes and only gave recommendations about what he liked and tried to push to order things that we expressed we didn’t enjoy (the spicy chocolate sauce for their cheesecake). And he asked how we liked things frequently and he was overly attentive when things were fine, but when we did tell him we had an issue with our dishes he literally walked away.
It was a subpar experience and subpar food, It wasn’t like it was 0/10 but I wouldn’t return.

We went here last night for our anniversary dinner. Everyone was so kind, wait time was not long at all, and the atmosphere was very themed and intimate. Our waitress, Shelby, was awesome! She was part of what made the experience so good. The other part was the food. Truly the best meal I’ve had, and we had a lot of food so I feel like we got a good sampling of the menu. Escargot, grilled oysters, half chicken with risotto and mushrooms, burger and fries, lava cake and cheesecake. Every bite was amazing. We will be back! Highly recommend.

My fiancé visiting from San Francisco & I decided to try the NEW restaurant from my hometown area. I had great expectations. Our server Shelby was excellent. She was quite friendly, welcoming and attentive. The bread was exceptionally fluffy and tasty. The cream cheese garlic chive spread was exceptionally delicious. Our cocktails had generous liquor although they had a limited offering of our choice.. I had the New York Strip, Medium. A good steak doesn’t require anything other than the flavors and a few enriching herbs while cooking. I requested hose radish immediately. Four large pieces of grizzle was an unwelcomed surprise. I ordered a side of mushrooms which at best was mediocre. My better half ordered the pork chops accompanied with a dab of mashed potatoes. I tasted his pork cops which were bland. I have to admit we won’t return. We were so sadly disappointed.

The Fair was such a lovely time for my lady and I. Our bartender Max was on point with fantastic cocktail recommendations and service. The hostess and whole staff were so welcoming as well. We will be back very soon and we’re excited to try more items on the menu.

I had seen and spoke to the folks at Harvest homecoming so I was curious to try them out. It was a week night evening. The restaurant was not full, but the service was wonderful. I sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Three of us pick a new restaurant every month to try. We had a great time and enjoyed the food immensely. Shared apps included the meatballs and steak tartare. Entrees were the pork chop, hanger steak, and half-chicken. Everything was cooked well and the portions were generous. We also got sides to share – creamed spinach, mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach was excellent. Dessert included the cheesecake and tiramisu. The only quibble with the tiramisu was it could have used more coffee flavor, but that’s splitting hairs.
We’re hoping your menu changes seasonally so we can make a return visit and try something new. Portions were great, food was cooked well, service was just the right amount of touches to the table, and the ambiance has been needed in New Albany for years now. Nothing but success to you!

The bacon wrapped scallops appetizer was awesome. Meatballs Ina slightly spicy marinara, very good as well.
The Fair is another restaurant from the people who own La Catrina, The Sleepy Rooster and others.
Great high end service, good drinks and nice people.
The Caesar salad was excellent. We added two ribeye steaks and the short rib Pappardelle. All excellent.
Priced fair for a fine dining establishment. We will be back.
