Agaves Cantina was a nice spot once we found it, although the location was a little tricky because the maps were slightly off. Thankfully, there was plenty of parking which made things easier. They offer indoor, outdoor, and bar seating so there are plenty of options depending on the vibe you’re going for.

Our server was super friendly and helpful, especially since it was our first visit. They walked us through the menu and made us feel welcome. The food was good, but I do think the pricing could be better. I ordered three street tacos for around $13, but they did not come with rice or beans. On top of that, a small 2 oz side of sour cream was $2.00 which felt a little excessive for such a small portion.

Overall, the food tasted good and the service was great, but the prices felt a bit steep for what you actually get. I would come back, but I’d probably order differently next time.

We have loved Agave since moving here almost 3 years ago. In that time, there has been a significant decline in the quality of the food and service.

My case in point:
Due to our schedules, we mostly do takeout and bring it home. We actually go into the restaurant and order there (again just easier for us because of scheduling and we don’t use delivery services). I don’t know why but as we have continued, the quality of the food has become inconsistent. We usually order soup, a couple of quesadillas, and some queso to go with the chips – nothing particularly special. Unfortunately, there have been several times especially over this year that we have had to go back in because they didn’t put everything we ordered into the bag. We now check it before we leave the restaurant. Most times they don’t apologize, they just shrug their shoulders and say “oh or ok” and leave to get the replacement food.

If we order anything like fajitas or anything more involved, we’ve noticed the quality has diminished. It is overcooked, mushy and usually onions are the lead ingredient. The consistency is lost. This has become the “norm” for us so we began sticking with the easy stuff just to make sure we get a better result.

In the last 6 months, we actually have dined in 3 times. Each time we noticed (again) the decline within the establishment. We noticed that tables had not been cleaned after other diners had finished, food and other debris on the floor… we even tried to eat on the patio one evening – bird poop and cigarette butts were on the chairs and tables of at least 3 places we tried to sit. Of course we went back inside and found a table we could eat on.

We decided that at that point, we would say something to the person in charge and then just not dine in for a while to see if or how things would improve.

Recently, we decided to go in and dine. There were 4 people at the bar and 3 tables with diners so it wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately and then that’s where it began to decline:
The server was polite but seemed rushed and had to come back to us several times because they had left out things we had requested like an additional knife to cut our meat or more ice for our drinks.
When our food came, it was sloppy. It looked like it had been thrown on the plate. It was nothing like the photos on the website or menus – not even close. Because we were tired and just wanted some comfort food, we ignored it and tried to work around it. For me, I ordered the carnitas – but once again the onions were the majority of my dish. Carnitas are supposed to be in chunks but mine were shredded. Agaves usually has wonderful carnitas but these were greasy and looked like they had been cooked and rewarmed several times. They were also lukewarm not hot and appetizing. The rice was also cold and the beans were so liquefied , they had spread under the rice and meat. Needless to say, very unappetizing. So we put the majority of what we could into a box and brought it home to warm up – we put it into tortillas as a wrap – at least we would be able to not have any waste. You will see in the photo I took that the onions were overwhelming.

Needless to say, something has changed and not for the better. It’s sad because we have enjoyed delicious meals there and have taken friends and family there as well. The quality and service definitely need attention. We hope they read the reviews and do something about them.

Food was awesome. Waitress filled my water cup and it slipped out here hand when she was giving it back to me; it went everywhere all in my food and clothes was soaking wet! Never received an apology!! Went to the manager he wasn’t notified from her until I went up to him and explained the situation. He comped my bill but the main thing I deserved was an apology from her and never received it !!! She avoided me the rest of the night. I could have took approach a different way but I was very cordial.

Always love going to Agave! The food is fantastic and is always fast. The service staff are great and we’ve never had a bad experience! Now that it’s cooling off, we’ll be enjoying their outdoor seating more often too!

Food was fabulous and fresh. Wanted to sit on that wonderful looking patio but the rain had its way
We will definitely be back for more margaritas and the menu has so many choices we have to come back.

came here one afternoon and the place was not busy at all. it seemed clean and well decorated except the booth cushions were all worn/torn and did not provide much “cushion”.
our server got our orders correct but did not take initiative providing napkins or plates for the appetizers nor came around for refills.
the shredded beef quesadilla rellena was delicious and flavorful. the rice itself wasn’t anything special. the calamari was interesting, not crispy at all but the toppings were fresh.
would not recommend the steak jalisco. we realized they didn’t ask how we wanted the steak cooked after ordering but they never came back around for us to advise. the steak was extremely tough and overcooked, basically inedible and did not look or taste like a ribeye. after letting the server know, they did not try to help or ask how they could help. we took it home anyway since wasting food is not something we like to do.
if the service was better our visit probably wouldn’t be our last. probably would consider take out for another shredded beef dish

The atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately that’s where the positives end. I ordered the Chilaquiles Verde, and the chicken had a strange seafood taste, almost like it was cooked next to shrimp. There were also potatoes mixed in, which wasn’t listed. The menu described it as chicken-stuffed corn tortillas, but what I got was tortilla chips—likely the same stale chips served at the tables.

The guacamole was especially disappointing. At $8, I expected fresh, handmade guacamole, but it tasted like store-bought, overly creamy dip. Service was practically non-existent, which added to the frustration.

This was our first time dining in, but our second time trying their food. The first time was through UberEats, and we weren’t impressed. We decided to give them another chance, but it was actually worse in person.

¡Delicioso! Service was great. Thanks David! We enjoyed a family meal outdoors. Started off with the calamari which was delicious. We find the meals good portions. I was full quick. I enjoyed the seafood chimichanga. Hubby had Salmon and vegetables and our daughter had pizza and fries. Food was hot, fresh and very tasty. Will be back! Very satisfied.

We are babysitting the grand children (lots of fun!) and after feeding them dinner, I went out to get dinner for my wife and I. What a find! Friendly hostess and manager, I had a seat at the bar and ordered to go. The bartender made me a margarita while I waited. She was very friendly. The order came quick despite being a Friday at 6pm! Nice experience and will be back. Looks also like no problem if we would have taken the kids.

The atmosphere is very nice and outdoor seating is available with some very pretty, although not entirely practical, wrought iron furniture. The inside seating and decor is also very nice. The service was average. The portions were a good amount. It was the flavor (or lack thereof) that left me hanging. No spice to anything. Very bland. The chicken enchiladas (Trios Enchiladas on the menu) tasted like….chicken. My wife had seafood nachos and felt the same. I didn’t hate it, but I wouldn’t seek it out.
