Don’t let the location inside the gas station fool you—Pick Pockets is the real deal. I tried the Mediterranean Falafel and the Chicken Wrap, and both were excellent. The falafel was perfectly crispy and not dry at all, and the chicken wrap was packed with fresh ingredients. The portions are huge, making it one of the best value spots in Smithfield for a fresh, healthy meal. I’ll definitely be back!

I have to say what this location lacks in ambiance it sure makes up for fresh delicious ingredients. The salads are delicious with lots of classic Greek toppings.

When the reviews say that it is in a gas station, it is THE MOST in a gas station an eatery can get. Like, it is IN the gas station convenience store. The counter staff were not too attentive – we weren’t greeted or asked what we would like – we just ordered. We got fries, stuffed grape leaves, and chicken and falafel (combined) wraps.
The chicken was cooked RIGHT THERE – it isn’t microwaved. The falafel was fried fresh, so were the fries – that is a reoccurring theme here at Pick Pockets – freshness. As they constructed our wraps, they grew larger and larger – generously piled with all the ingredients we could want. This was like Subway, but the food was actually good and the wraps actually tasted like real bread products.
I couldn’t believe the size of the wrap – it was truly astounding.
After a bite, I was sold. It was fairly good falafel, good chicken, good hummus… It was all average to above average – more above than below to tell it straight.
Was it THE BEST I EVER HAD?
Eastside Pockets’ falafel was better. Coffee Connections’ was probably the best I’ve had recently. The falafel itself is tasty, but I feel like the flavour needs to be kicked up a smidge. More herbs, more spices. That is the biggest culinary complaint I can muster.
Atmosphericly, the place is just the inside of a convenience store. Bright light, tables with chairs you need to go are down for yourself.
A yeah – there are better wraps out there, but these guys seem to deliver Consistency.

Pretty good $13 for shawarma platter and nice guy, overall quality was right for the price.
If you found my review helpful please give it a thumbs up!

The people behind the counter were extremely polite and friendly. That was the best part of my experience. Not sure what recipes they’re using but the shawarmas were TERRIBLE. For 14.50 I expected a decent amount of meat – nope, not to mention it was literally SO SPICEY I COULD NOT finish it. First and last time here. Next time Ill drive the extra 15 minutes to get actual middle eastern food in Prov.

Fresh ingredients and always service with a smile. Best falafel and shwarma. Portions are generous, and food is great value. My go-to for takeout whenever I’m in RI. Love everything I’ve ever tried!
