Nice ambience, great flavors, value for money! Fast service and no delays in serving food. This place will definitely get your south Indian breakfast cravings satisfied. Yesterday for dinner we ordered Kaara Idly, Mysore Bonda, Poori and Ravva Onion Dosa, it is yummy .

Homely taste. Chutney quality and taste needs to be improved, feels like paste. The takeaway food doesn’t stay fresh for more than a few hours. I recently had the Masala Pesarattu Dosa, and I liked that the potato masala filling inside it actually had some spices to it. It gave a good flavor rather than being just bland. Sambar was decent. Biryani Thali is good.

I was visiting Atlanta and came here with my sister’s family. Food is decent and prices for most items are less than $10. Poori with alu curry was my favorite and my nieces loved onion samosa and Mirchi bajji

The best place to get Indian vegetarian food at a fraction of the cost. And even though the cost is significantly lower than other Indian restaurants the quality is pretty good. The quantity too is quite generous. There is a Hindu Temple nearby which makes it ideal for stopping by after prayers. Well maintained small restaurant.

A place for authentic home made style South Indian food. Have been here more than 3 times and every single time I had no regrets having food here. The food here is amazing with great quantity and at a very reasonable price compared to Aunty’s Kitchen near by which is deteriorating day by day. A great and fitting competitor considering the level and speed of service offered.

The first time I tried Paneer Dosa and as the name says it’s just Dosa with shredded Paneer filling in place of Masala. The dosa was too good and moist unlike the dry Dosas we get at other places. The paneer was just shredded and added and literally no spice/ salt nothing. Had a plate of samosas as well. Wasn’t that great but the chutneys were good.

The next time I went for lunch on a Saturday, it was too crowded and hard to find a place. We got a Thali and it was just Wow to me! Was craving for Thali for quite some days and found this pure home style Veg Thali which included Pappu, Sambar, Gulab jamun, curd, pickle and 2 curries. There’s a great demand for the thali here for its reasonable price and quality.

The next time had Onion Dosa and they ran out of Sambar which I loved the most. I’m glad they atleast clarify the wait times and non availability of food up front than making us wait for hours like Auntys kitchen who gives a standard 40minute wait time to everyone. Had Badam milk along side this and it tasted great and subtle as well. No extra sugar or any colors as I could see. Just mashed Badam and milk and the food stays so grounded.

The quality is all the more excellent which makes me revisit frequently. The ambience is simple and nothing special. The tables are kept clean more often than being piled up like Auntys kitchen and the plates are taken away as soon as we are done thus making way for other customers to occupy in no time. Weekends are a lot busy especially during lunch times so be prepared for a wait time of atleast 20-30 minutes to get a table for 2 or 4.

BOTTOMLINE: A great place for home made style authentic Andhra-TN (South Indian) food that’s delicious, priced reasonable, filling and doesn’t bother your tummy. Crowded on weekends as it’s close to the temple.

MUST TRY: Veg Thali, Dosa varieties, Badam milk

Amma’s kitchen is a small south Indian joint and I visited it a week before Diwali. It is a budget-friendly restaurant for a taste of south Indian cuisine

Here is the summary of my review:

Ambiance: 2/5: Nothing genuinely extravagant. Looks like a regular lunch place in the busy streets of India. Small area with mostly tables and not in the name of decor or ambiance.

Service 2.5/5: It took them over 20 minutes to get us two samosas (which I assume would have been cooked before) and a mickey mouse uttapam

Food Quality and size: 3/5: The taste was good. The samosas were small and spicy and the uttapam did not have enough side dips

Value for Money: 4.5/5: This is only area in which it does good since this place is cheap so if you want south indian food which does not create a hole in your pocket, you must visit Amma’s kitchen.

Overall, the taste and service could have been better. I will try their dosas and update the review

We got paneer butter masala and cashew tomato curry.
Cashew curry was okay but Panner curry was spoiled, we had to trash it. Although prices are reasonable but it doesn’t justify the fact that they are selling stale food. Please do check before selling it.

2022 Update: Same great taste returns at same price when every other restaurant is increasing prices despite nowhere close to good taste. Glad to see this being reopened. Only thing that changed for good is seating with better comfort, and more space.

2018: Awsome home-style south indian food..pure veg. Regular lunch spot for nearby office folks.

Been a customer here since 2020. On 9/25/25, I had asked some extra potato fry and squash milk gravies as extra on the thali.

As a business, you either charge the customer extra and deliver the side dishes for free given that I have purchased the thali.

At 1:14PM, the bloke with a hair bun tells me that the thali curries have been completed and are not available.

After that close to 15 Thalis are given out. This kitchen is a subsidiary/part of the Hanuman temple.

Not sure what this was! Never ever returning again!

Food- South Indian dishes were tasty only salt was less. North Indian dishes like chaat are not that tasty. Over all food is good.
Service- Food was ready quickly and that is what we want especially when we are hungry 😀
Atmosphere- Ambience is simple and neat.
Cost- Very reasonable compare to other places.
