I’m in LA for work, and on the rare occasion I get a day off, I go on the noble quest for an amazing gyro sandwich. So far, it’s been a tragic tale of disappointment—dry meat, limp pita, tzatziki that tastes like regret. But today… today was different.
I walked into this place, ordered a traditional pork gyro (not the typical lamb you see everywhere), and my life got at least 17% better. The meat? Generous and juicy. Onions and tomatoes? Fresh. A sprinkle of paprika? Haven’t seen that level of culinary confidence in years. And the tzatziki sauce? Absolute perfection—creamy, garlicky, and exactly what Zeus himself would drizzle over ambrosia.
Now, these gyros come with French fries inside them. I don’t know what it is with Californians shoving fries into perfectly fine sandwiches, but I’m a purist. I told them “no fries inside,” because I like my carbs like I like my friends—close by, but not smothering me. Don’t get me wrong, I had fries on the side (and they were great), but they don’t belong in the gyro. I’m not starting a war here, I’m just saying your ancestors didn’t fight off empires so you could put potatoes in everything.
The place itself is small—eight tables inside, a few outside—but it’s cozy. The staff? Top notch. They clearly care that you’re happy and fed, which is becoming rarer than a parking spot in LA.
If you’re looking for a dang good gyro, this is the place. I just hope I have time to come back before heading home, because my taste buds are already drafting the petition.
Highly recommend trying!
This spot is hands down the best gyro spot I have personally tried in all of socal. It literally beats the breaks off of all the more bougie gyro spots in Lbc/LA.
The teziki is super fresh and delicious, as I’m a (teziki s1ut lol) 😉 The fries are seasoned to perfection, the pita is always soft and tastes very fresh. And the meat. Omg, the lamb gyro is so good. I eat myself full sick, cause I can’t stop myself from picking at it after I’m already full.
That also leads me to my last thought on the food. The portions are very generous. The gyro combo is enough for two meals. If you can stop yourself from eating the whole thing. Hahaha.
Literally I can not say enough good things about this place. If you haven’t been, all I can say is GOOO! It’s a hidden gem.
Now let’s get into the service. I’ve been probably around 5-10 times now. However, by my second time ordering over the phone for pick up. The awesome green haired girl Sophia already recognized my voice and my order. She always has a bright smile and is very welcoming and friendly! And her right hand girl Christina, is on point putting together the orders and making it happen for the customer. Seriously. I can’t rave enough about this place.
You are missing out if you haven’t been there yet!
