Fun night with friends!!!! My friend was worried about leaving her belongings unattended, but I felt it very safe. The music was AMAZING (bring war plugs! It’s like a concert ) can’t wait to go back!!!

We decided to stop by for drinks on a Thursday night. It was open mic night and there were ample amounts of people getting up to play/sing. The food wasn’t great but the atmosphere, drink prices, staff, and the overall vibes were fantastic.

If you go on Sundays, you are in for one heck of a jazzy time! Greats spirits, cold beer, AND LIVE JAZZ! These photos are of Sheer Jazz, a local quintet that plays often at Darrell’s.

As far as dive bars go, Darrell’s Tavern is one of the best! Stiff drinks, cold beers, awesome pizzas, and tacos on Tuesday. The staff is friendly but will not put up with any guff from patrons, unless they know you well. Dan the owner is a wonderful person.
The live music is loud and proud so bring yourself some ear plugs.
They have an outdoor seating area for those who smoke, and that’s always a pleasure, it’s even heated in the winter.

We were there yesterday to watch a friend play, the band is called the morning watch! I have some samples of the show in the videos! I was so surprised that they had a stout on tap! I was so happy! We drank a couple of them and it was so delicious!
Bartender was fast and great, knowledgeable and gives options!
Lots of sitting (come early) and standing room to enjoy the music!
It was a really great time last night. The bus from downtown was a treat to the destination!
Will come again!!!

Dan and his lovely crew have made Darrel’s one of the best places to play and see music. We’ve been playing shows there since he’s owned it—we celebrated our 20th bandi anniversary, I celebrated my 50th birthday there with my most favorite bands and one of my bands, and it’s really one of the most special venues in the area. Here’s to many more years of being part of the rich musical tradition and history of our city.
P.S—The pizza is killer!!

What can you say about this American institution? Some of the best live punk and alt music in the country. Darrell’s is a survivor and a thriver. It’s been serving the community ear candy for decades and has thankfully dogged the wrecking ball so far. With a full bar and a pool table, what more do you need?

We came here to see a jazz band. Apparently Darrell’s has been around for 50+ years and they have never changed the decor. It is a bit of a time capsule. Sadly they only had one bartender on when we were there and he was doing everything. Even bringing out the food. I got there before the band and managed to get a beer. After that there was a long lineup for drinks and food. The venue is not very large and the big part of it is taken up by a pool table. So just a few tables to sit and watch the band.

It’s not a terrible place. But it’s for an older crowd for sure. Smells of old stale smoke and dust.. Service is fine. Mostly beer. And its just very quirky / tacky inside. Good for a chuckle and some live bands. Would not come here for anything but that.

Fun place to watch a show, especially Caudal Peduncle! I didn’t try the food, so maybe next time. The black velvet paintings are a nice touch. Look for the one of Elvis.
