Was on the hunt for a vegan breakfast burrito and holy moly, this place was amazing! Got the veggie breakfast burrito and swapped cheese for soyrizo (I eat eggs, so not 100% vegan but 110% what I wanted!) YUM! The lady at the window was so so so lovely, too. In the Rose City Park food truck area so plenty of tables and shade to hang and enjoy.

Have to say, as yet another Mexican cart in yet another Portland food cart pod, I was not expecting much from El Guero…
But to my delight I WAS MISTAKEN! This place is great. Very flavorful meats and veggies. The owners are very friendly and charming. All around a superior taqueria!

Update: The worker was absolutely NOT polite and definitely did NOT say they would be happy to serve us. They were short and snippy because they were annoyed we hadn’t made a decision yet. I’m pretty chill but I was honestly so taken back by the rudeness that I literally left the food cart pod. Then they want to lie on my review so they don’t look bad. If you are closed then closed your window. Don’t get annoyed at me because you close a food business at 7pm and I thought you were still open because your window was open.
Previous review: We stopped by the food cart pod today a little after 7. This cart was still open and we were looking at the menus deciding what place we wanted to eat at. We decided on this cart and while we were standing outside reading the menu the person inside rudely says “hey do you want to place an order or what because we’re done.” Well actually nope not anymore with that attitude. I have never had a single good experience at this food cart pod so I don’t know why I continue to give it additional chances. Went to Du’s instead.

I was really excited to try the torta ahogada I’m originally from Guadalajara Jalisco I know what an authentic torta ahogada is and it really disappoint me when a restaurant offers something that is not a torta ahogada not even close, not the right salsa,not the right hot sauce, bread and torta don’t go with silantro besides the point customer service was great and place was clean.

Best breakfast burrito in town–the chorizo con papas is our favorite (split it, it’s huge!). And the lady who runs the cart is very sweet.
