The Kneale family opened Harrison’s Restaurant in December of 2003. Their goal was to create a restaurant that was a reflection of their lives growing up and working in Stowe. They wanted a place where locals and visitors alike could enjoy comfortable, creative food in an environment that was casual yet upscale and unique to Stowe. A place where you could meet old friends and new, have a romantic date night out or just to unwind with a nice glass of wine. Over 20 years later, Harrison’s is still the place to celebrate an anniversary, a big win in sports, a first date, a birthday, graduation, or a Friday night out with friends. We look forward to celebrating with you soon..
Cozy tavern with heated patio serving homestyle American grub with creative local twists.

This is a nice restaurant with a small but excellent menu. We sat outside on the patio since the inside was completely booked weeks ahead. We were able to be seated within 30 minutes. Service was ok, but not what I’d expect from such a pricey restaurant. Our waiter was friendly and took good care of us. The food took a long time to come out, but we were wowed when it did. Beautiful presentation on all dishes. And every meal was outstanding! The butternut squash soup was the soup special for the night and it was amazing! Our main dishes were the mushroom ravioli, glazed salmon, and pork chop special. All were delicious and perfectly portioned.

Review: A Fantastic Dinner at The Harrison
We had a wonderful dinner at The Harrison. The ambience is absolutely amazing—though the dining area is in the basement, it’s beautifully decorated and doesn’t feel stuffy at all. The service was equally impressive; our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.
For food, my wife had the calamari, which was fantastic, while I started with the Brie and jam—it was delicious. I also tried the duck wings as a starter, which were excellent. For my main course, I had the pistachio-crusted venison, and it was the highlight of the night—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.
Overall, the dishes were well-priced, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the experience was excellent. We’ll definitely be returning!

This is a hidden gem in Stowe! In the basement of a store the vibe is incredible mixing cozy with upscale! The warm atmosphere sets the tone for the delectable food that follows! Sharing the crab cakes, bread, beet salad, harvest salad the crab cakes and beet salad were top choices! All the food was fresh and extremely well seasoned. For entrees the stand outs were the pistachio crusted venison! Hands down a table pleaser! This is not your typical venison, it is lean, easy to bite, and the pistachio crusted venison adds an incredible crunch! Cannot recommend this enough one of the best red meat entrees I’ve ever tried! Harrison’s is a great stop in Stowe for a group dinner or date night!

This was our third time coming to Harrison’s (three years in a row) and it is truly one of the best (if not THE best) restaurant in Stowe. All of the servers are attentive, food and drinks never disappoints and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic.

Listen to me, honey. Usually, if somebody tells me we’re going anywhere near a “lower village,” I assume they’re dragging me to the awful little neighborhood where Rosario buys her sensible orthopedic shoes. But Harrison’s? Oh, sweetie, it’s a completely different story.
I’ve been gracefully descending those stairs to claim my rightful barstool since my 21st birthday (which was just a few seasons ago, obviously). It’s the perfect little bunker to hide from the dreadful Vermont snow and reality.
But the absolute only reason we’re here is Jen. Oh, my adorable redhead, Jen! Sweetie, this girl shakes a dirty martini so flawlessly it almost makes me forget to blend up my morning Xanax smoothie. Almost. I mean, a girl still needs her vitamins, honey, but Jen’s pours are a very, very close second.
Do yourself a favor, pull up a stool, and tell her Karen sent you. And tell her to just leave the shaker. Ha ha ha!

i want to love this place but a few things keep me from a full fledged endorsement. restaurant does have a cozy welcoming ambience but some tables feel cramped and small, it was swelteringly hot and quite stuffy. portions felt a tad skimpy with generally high price tags. service friendly though the wait between appetizers and the entrees was way too long. we’ll be back to give you guys one more chance. sometimes a second date is in fact the charm.

We visited Harrison’s from out of state at the recommendation of others and it did not disappoint! We had drinks, chicken piccata, NY strip (cooked to perfection), and the cream puff dessert. We completely cleaned our plates! Bartender provided great service and was very friendly. We met “Mags” on the ski lift at Stowe who is friends with the owners.

I really enjoyed dinner here! I wish I could give it a 5 but the food and menu left a little to be desired. The atmosphere is so nice and cozy and intimate, and our server was excellent. However I feel like the food could have been prepared with more finesse given the price point.

We came up to Stowe for our first visit. We came to the restaurant on a Friday night and sat at the bar with Jenn the bartender.
She was fantastic. Very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We went At 4:30 and were able to get six seats at the bar. We had multiple appetizers drinks and dinner dinners. We also had dessert. Every single thing we ordered was excellent. Our group really enjoyed the tuna and the shared oysters.
One of the favorite meals was the pork chop.
I was very happy to find a restaurant that had profiteroles. My favorite dessert. They were also excellent. Wish I could give more than five stars, that’s how happy we were with this meal.

Crab cake are so good and I usually don’t care for them but these were great. I had the pork tenderloin, I don’t make pork at home because it always turns out dry, this was great and the sweet potato was yummy. My husband had the Lobster Florentine and it was very good. Definitely need reservations, it’s a small quiet place and fills up fast.
