Been reading about Il Pizzico on “Best of Maryland” lists for quite some time, figured I was overdue for a visit. Reservations are necessary, and they have a smart casual dress code. We started with the Beef Carpaccio, which was melt in your mother delicious, and a daily special Cod Fritter with a lovely sauce. Our entrées were a Mushroom Ravioli with the most amazing creamy pistachio sauce, and the Rigatoni with mushrooms and sausage. The pasta was very fresh, clearly made in house. We finished our meal with an Almond Amaretto cake, which was a little on the dry side, but otherwise a wonderful finish. Including wine, our bill for two was $147, and worth every penny. Will definitely be back as a regular now.

My wife and I just ate this evening at Il Pizzico, and it was an amazing experience! We ate the calamari, the lentil soup, the mushroom ravioli with pistachio cream sauce, and drank the super Tuscan wine. The service was so good, the ambience was romantic and appreciated for our date night. Strongly encourage you to go.

1st time here and the spinaci was the best salad I have ever had! dressing was light and the pancetta/gorgonzola/walnuts was a perfect pairing. I also had the rainbow trout and it was so fresh. The beurre blanc sauce was great too!! The outside of the bldg is nothing special but it is a little fancy italian restaurant on a busy corner in Rockville. Only got pix of dessert and it was an ideal ending to a perfect lunch!! Will def be back!!

Really fantastic find. The spinach salad, short rib, and salmon all were superb, the desserts solid, and the service excellent. I will actively look forward to returning next time I’m in the area.

Busier than I would have expected fairly early in the evening and shortly after opening. They kindly seated us as walk-ins without a reservation anyway, but I got the sense that wasn’t something to be able to count on.

A Hidden Gem of Italian Excellence in Rockville – Il Pizzico
Tucked away in the heart of Rockville, Maryland, Il Pizzico is a shining example of authentic Italian cuisine brought to life with passion and precision. While the menu boasts an array of specialties, one standout dish that continues to captivate my palate is their exquisite Veal Chop.
Though it comes at a premium price, the value is unquestionable. This impressive 12–14 oz bone-in veal chop is grilled to absolute perfection and served with a wild mushroom medley, delicately sautéed and infused with deep, earthy flavors. Complemented by a rich red wine reduction, it rests on a bed of roasted Yukon gold potatoes and vibrant haricots verts—creating a dish that’s as beautifully presented as it is unforgettable. It is, without a doubt, a culinary masterpiece that my wife and I cherish on every visit.
From the moment you walk in, Il Pizzico delivers an experience that is nothing short of exceptional. The wait staff consistently offers warm, professional, VIP-level service that makes every guest feel like family. The wine list is expertly curated, and we always enjoy pairing our meal with a bold, velvety Cabernet Sauvignon.
To begin our evening, there’s no better way to set the tone than with their perfectly balanced aged Negroni—a classic Italian cocktail crafted with dry gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. It’s a refined and flavorful prelude to what always becomes a magical dining experience.
Chef-owner Enzo Livia has masterfully created a true corner of Italy right here in America. His commitment to authenticity, quality, and heartfelt hospitality makes Il Pizzico a beloved destination for anyone who appreciates the art of Italian cuisine.
For a taste of la dolce vita, look no further than Il Pizzico.

So , this is just a wonderful place, and you will be soooo surprised if you are willing to pass the gas station and street mall setting.
This restaurant shocked me.
I would never expect what I found.
The location is not so extravagant, so you are not expecting much, but as soon as you cross the front door, the dream begins.
The table clothes are the whites and most crisp, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very nice.
The restaurant is very quaint.
Food is super tasty and very well presented.
Every single dish we ordered, I was super happy with.
We started strong and finished strong.
It’s one of those places you just walk on, and you want to keep coming back.
I very much recommend it if you are up for nice Italian food.

Chef Enzo is a true DMV gem. Excellent freshly sourced ingredients cooked perfectly. Had the duck special and was BLOWN AWAY. Not dry, perfectly cooked. Extensive appetizers to choose from that are unique and familiar at the same time. Really excellent choice for dinning. Be patient with parking, and a very unassuming building. It’s honestly not a dive. Dress business smart casual.

True Italian food hidden gem in Maryland named the best restaurant in the state and it’s not your regular fancy. Washington DC place this is as good as it gets with Italian food. I went with my Italian friend which your father is Sicilian and her mother is from the north and she’s used to eating real Italian food and was amazed by the quality of the ingredients the flavors and the presentations highly recommend recommended
