We had the chicken fingers meal, shrimp and grits bites, Reuben egg rolls, and a large Shrimp Po’ Boy sandwich. All of which were VERY expensive. Our bill for the two of us was over $50… At a fine dining establishment, that might be reasonable. However, NOT at a neighborhood sub shop.
The food itself was just ok. The chicken strips looked like something from the frozen section at Walmart. The shrimp bites were ok but not worth the price. The Reuben egg rolls were great, but again, not worth the price. The Po’ Boy sandwich was ridiculously over-priced and meager. I would expect twice as much shrimp than what they served. It was mostly lettuce and tomato with only a half dozen or so shrimp.
The dining area reminded me of a laundromat in the ghetto section of town; rundown, tired, dirty, oddly laid out. It needs to be refreshed. I guess their main thing is take out, not eating in.
Overall, we might go here if we are in the immediate area but it doesn’t warrant going out of your way to specifically eat here.
I picked up a larger cheesesteak, bacon and cheese fries and a drink (1/2 gallon of turkey hill lemonade). Total bill was a hair under $30! IMHO, that’s ridiculous.
The cheesesteak was tasty, but light in meat. Photo attached. The bacon and cheese fries were horrible. It was a if they refried day old fries, used extra salt, then applied some old cheese sauce and some old bacon. The photo looks way better than in person.
Will I go again.. if I’m in the area, I’ll stop by to give them another shot.. maybe it was a bad day when I went. But IMO, those fries should have never been served.
The special cheeseteak… awesome!
The wifes large Cheesesteak ($9.99) was made to order and she enjoyed it. It was smothered in cheese and well loaded with beef. She would recommend.
The Italian sub ($9.99) had plenty of meat and cheese on it and was good, however I felt that I could get a better sub at Wawa. I would still order it again in a pinch.
The fries were a big disappointment. The fries themselves were pretty good, but they were smothered with what appeared, and tasted, like the cheap “canned” cheese. I would not recommend.
For a local place that’s super easy to get to, we would return. Maybe next time we will try the 2lb Belly Buster Cheesesteak.
Had an issue with the one I got to go (pictured). About two days later I got it out of the fridge and the roll was glued to the wax paper. So I microwaved it for a minute or more to try to unstick it, but it was just not coming off. I suggest eating it fresh and not saving it for another day.
