Delicious Pizza, and wings, STL hidden gem. This place is a well loved, family owned Pizzeria. They have plenty of seating inside (limited seating on the pizzeria side, but ample seating inside the bar) and a small patio with a few tables and chairs. There is a full service bar on the other-side. Ordered a STL style sausage and bacon pizza. It was absolutely delicious. The pizza sauce wasn’t too sweet and very flavorful, and there was no need to ask for extra sauce. The crunch of the crust was just right. The wings were my favorite. We got them tavern style. They were cooked just right, slightly crunchy, but yet tender. The sauce on the wings was Smokey and tangy, with a little spice.
We will definitely be back again, and next time enjoy the patio!

Lovely place to hang out and meet new pals. A few drinks and great pizza! Heather was awesome! Came by after enjoying lights at Candy Cane Lane!

Bono’s pizza is a great place to chill with friends and family and have some good food!
The people working there are extremely nice and friendly, the food is genuinely good and it’s kid friendly.
Their pizzas are traditional style, served in metal plates ( which I love! Like the old times! )
At night there’s parking on the other side of the alley ( not sure which org is that but I didn’t see any signs saying don’t park here! ) there’s also few parking spots in the front and side of the restaurant ..
The kitchen is visible from the seating area which gives it a warm and welcoming vibe! There’s also a bar on the other side.
The building and decoration is old and not spectacular, but that also gives the restaurant a unique character, like a humble little place who cares for good food more than a fancy presentation! Idk ♂️
One cool thing to notice: There’s a cool large satellite dish looking at the sky on the other side of the alley not sure but might be for a bank or something
There’s isn’t really much more to add, I’d recommend this place!

The St. Louis Cardinals were playing the Chicago Cubs so I thought St. Louis should assert dominance through eating carbs. Tony Bono’s Pizzeria in St. Louis has both St. Louis style and Chicago style pizza, which is also perfect if you’re indecisive.
You know what else this spot has? A crab and shrimp pizza. #StLouisPescatarianApproved I threw on some jalapeños because all pizza deserves a little spice too.
We like all pizza around here. We do not care about the type of pizza. However, we definitely have a favorite baseball team! Go Cards.

#TueDudesEat For those of you who enjoy an authentic Chicago style pizza, 2 from our group tried Bono’s and they stated this was the best they’ve had outside of Chicago. I had the Tavern wings, which is a mix between hot and barbecue. These were delicious!

Great tasting food! Friendly service. We ordered the Chicago style deep dish pizza. Excellent homemade tomato sauce! Needed a little more cheese and toppings, otherwise I would have given the restaurant a five for food. Unfortunately, there are lewd images throughout the restaurant. Other than that, the atmosphere is nice. I would eat here again.

This place is a hidden gem, the lady had been wanting to check this place out for a few weeks and we finally found some time to make it happen. Pizzal was awesome, Caesar salad was also awesome. The waitress we had was great. A must try for anyone looking for Chicago style pizza..

Driven past the place twice a day for years finally decided to give it a try. Mrs and I were the only people in the place when we walked in, and were told to have a seat. Every single table was dirty, not with dishes just crumbs and food particles dirty. And the floor looked like it had not been swept in quite a while.
We thought “food might be great” and make up for the looks and cleanliness of the places. Again we are the only people in the restaurant and the TV was playing fox news so loud we had to raise our voices to talk, again all stuff that was easy to fix with good food. We ordered a cheese garlic bread and a pizza with 2 sodas. 40 minutes later our appetizer arrived….then 10 min after that our pizza arrived. I LOVE pizza and we eat it every week, but this was just plain old poor. We ate a few pieces paid the bill and left! We were never asked to fill our drinks or any “small business “ type of services.
I have never written a review for a restaurant before, but this was just absolutely sub standard all the way around. We should have looked around at how dirty it was and left in the beginning. They have all these great pictures on the walls, but most of them have food and food stains on them. I mean there were food crumbs along the corner of the table on every table. If your busy that is one thing, but at 3:15 on a Tuesday afternoon??
In the future if I ever see a place like that again I will just walk out, so this one is my fault for giving a chance. Money wasted, lesson learned.

We got here at 11:03 (today) Monday morning and the owner was just arriving. We were invited in and appreciated the small business in it’s entirety. Literally one of the best Cesar salads I’ve ever had in STL. Just the right amount of dressing tossed into a well-blanched romaine lettuce. High quality ingredients and high-quality talents show through the food. Love was expressed in the food and we, in turn, love this place. I recommend salads and the Neapolitan pizza, I was too full to enjoy the Chicago style special but my bf loved it! The sauce is addicting and they use just the right amount of cheese to make it cheesy. We have had a very good experience each and every time we have ordered here. I highly recommend this pizzeria! We left at 12:10- that’s just a little over an hour for two fresh pies. Impressive for just starting the day. Thanks guys! ❤️

Pizza looked great and the mozzarella sticks were fantastic. Got the deep dish with sausage and pepperoni and the sausage was huge chunks and they really weren’t cooked through which I didn’t notice until the second slice so had the unfortunate results of the bathroom due to undercooked food. I also don’t get why the dough in the center was so thin, really made the center of the pizza soupy when all the grease was soaked into it. I dont know if this was just a bad experience but ill be going with blackthorns next time I want a deep dish.
