This is one of those rare places where authentic flavor is preserved. Everything tastes homemade and reminds me a lot of my time spent in California. Tradicional 636 doesn’t mess around. No frills, no jazzing up anything, just pure love on every plate!
I love the salsas that come with the chips. Each one is so creamy with a firey kick and satisfies the palate. The pico de Gallo is super fresh, sour, and perfect on the side. I highly recommend the Burrito California. One of the most flavorful burritos you’ll ever have in St. Charles County. I can’t wait to try more dishes on their menu when I come back. Delicious.

Really good food as I had the Street tacos and Traditional Fajitas, plus Flan for dessert. The margarita was good as well, but a little pricey at $8.95. Service was good, but had to drop a star as they chips were not fresh, this matters at a Mexican restaurant as happiness comes with good chips and Salsa

My partner & I stopped by this place to see how their quesabirria would be & it was disappointing. The meat was inedible as well as the shells of the tacos being super greasy/soggy. We also tried their top shelf margarita & paloma which were ok. The drinks were drinkable but unfortunately we will not be returning.

Definitely not an attractive restaurant. It would seem to me that if the place is turning any profit, a can of paint would help out. The food was pretty good. The green salsa with the chips was excellent. I had 3 different tacos and the taste was good. On a side note, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and I didn’t even see a place for toilet paper. Kinda odd?

Amazing spot for authentic style Mexican food. Great prices and atmosphere. Very friendly staff were accommodating of me and my family and the Al pastor was the best I’ve had in st Louis outside of taqueria Bronco.

I really enjoyed the food here! I got the floutas and enchiladas, both were delicious. Sadly the salsa verde was almost undetectable on the enchiladas but the meat was so well seasoned that it made up for the lack of salsa a little. I still would prefer to have more salsa. Overall delicious and I’d love to eat from here again.

My absolute favorite for shrimp cocktail (Coctel de Camarones) and chicken and cheese enchiladas in salsa verde. The best salsa verde..i always order extra salsa. Service is a hit or miss, but the food is worth it!

So, you all know that El Pueblito is my favorite go to place for tacos and Coctel de Camarones. We stopped by this past week for lunch. I ordered my favorites, tacos de tripas and an order of the shrimp cocktail (to-go), plus a shrimp tostada and chicken and cheese enchiladas (all pictured). My partner ordered Birria de Chivo (Goat Stew), a couple of the tacos de tripas and a tostada de al pastor.
The server that we got this day must have been new or something because the service was all of the way OFF.
After an extended wait time, our food finally arrived. The tacos were great, as expected, and the green salsa was nice and fresh tasting. The tripas are always cooked so perfect! How do they do that? The tripas have that chewiness on the inside and nice crisp on the outside, which adds a nice texture and added smoky-like flavor. My shrimp tostada was ok..seemed to be lacking something because it was a bit bland. The enchiladas looked like they had been either in the oven or under a heat lamp because the cheese that had oozed out of the enchilada was melted and crusted to the plate and whatever amount of salsa that they had, had dried up on one side of the plate. I like my enchiladas saucy, so I asked for more after we got our food, the server came back and said that they were out. My boyfriend’s birria de chivo, was warm (NOT hot) and the server forgot the onions, fried chili peppers and seasonings that normally accompany the dish. He was fed up by this time, so he didn’t want to bother asking the server for some. Though he ordered the small portion (one of his favorites), he did not finish it all because he said that there was too much fat on the pieces of meat and it had gotten cold by this time already. He didn’t even touch his tostada al pastor. He made a comment “I don’t know why we even came here.” I ate the coctel de camarones the next day and it wasn’t as fabulous as I remember. The flavor was spot on, but the juice was a bit thin. Maybe because I ate it the next day?
Overall, after an extended time away and based on this visit, I would have to say that my beloved El Pueblito needs to have more attentive staff and strive for consistency with their food. It was busy that afternoon, but not once did she check on us unless we flagged her down for something. We all want prompt service and good hot, fresh food.

Hands downbthe best street tacos I have ever had in the Midwest. Staff was friendly and helpful, the dinning room is clean and nicely decorated. But who cares because the food is just simply amazing.
