Very chill place & not busy @ all for a Friday night. I had the strip steak that was grilled with spices such as habenero. Came out just the way I ordered it. The hatch green ️ mashed potatoes were super fantastic. My some had the blue corn chicken enchiladas. They were sub par. I bit dry l, don’t think they used mole sauce on them. Over all decent experience. Waiter was very attentive.

The service here was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and the manager was so kind. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark for me. I ordered the veggie enchiladas, but the chile sauce was overwhelmingly sweet and so hot that I couldn’t taste anything else. I want to share our recent experience at Grill Caliente in Ruidoso, NM. Unfortunately, we did not feel welcomed or treated fairly during our visit. My family and I are American citizens of Mexican heritage, and we truly felt that the service we received was different from the service given to other guests.
We ordered two well-done steaks, and after more than 30 minutes, our food still hadn’t arrived. Meanwhile, an American couple who arrived after us was served first, and the attention they received from the staff was noticeably better—more polite, faster, and more attentive. My wife complained to the waitress and she said because we asked for the steak to be well done it was taking more time . What an excuse!
When our steaks finally came, they were not cooked as requested, instead of a well done steaks we got medium rare steaks .We informed the waitress, and she told us it would take another 20 minutes to fix them. We decided to wait because we didn’t want to ruin the evening—it was my wife’s birthday—but this was very disappointing. We believe that all customers should receive equal service, regardless of their background.
Even though the experience was unpleasant, we still paid for our meal and left a tip. However, we left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. We hope the restaurant takes this seriously and improves the way they treat all their guests. Will never go back to this place. Awful food and bad service.

Good service, amazing food, and a good atmosphere. All of the staff were super friendly and the manager was awesome.
I would suggest getting the queso fries and adding a chicken breast to it. It’s the perfect meal.

My husband and I visited on a Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving. They were pretty busy but we were able to get a table. Service was very good and quite fast. Prices were reasonable for the portions we received. The drink from the bar was very good.
My husband ordered a burger and he said it was very good. I tried his fries and they were good. I got the Brussels sprouts and they were DELICIOUS and hot (also on the spicy side). My mushroom tacos however felt undercooked (shrooms were still kinda raw-ish) and they were luke-warm. Tortillas fell completely apart. Burger was also warm but not hot. My side of rice and beans were good. I didn’t feel like sending the food back-I should have because I hate food that’s not hot. All in all, decent. I loved the vibe of the building and its architecture and the staff was very friendly. I’d say you would do well to go and get apps and drinks. When I’m back in town I’ll give it another try since they offer vegetarian food.

Flavorful enchiladas. I love the Green Chile Chicken enchiladas, they are always packed with delicious flavor and have a spicy kick to them. The black beans and rice that accompany them are also flavorful. I love them. The Mushroom Swiss burger is a crowd pleaser, hearty and delicious. The Chile Rellenos were also satisfying and delicious but they do pack a kick so if you don’t like spicy food, pick something else. They are really good though.
This place offers various alcoholic drinks, the margaritas are a personal favorite. They have a variety of local and imported beers on bottle.
There’s plenty of seating indoors and on their patio area, which is enclosed so you’re not really sitting outside.
The service has always been friendly and fast and the restaurant is always clean. It’s kid friendly, group friendly, and also has a small selection of vegetarian options.
Both my family and me enjoy this restaurant and have never been disappointed with the food, it’s tasty and satisfying.

I ORDERED A BLACK BEAN BURRITO AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. THE WAITER HAD NO PROBLEM WITH ME ORDERING THE MEAL WITHOUT DAIRY AND HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL.
