We were stopping through great atmosphere, would loved to be able to just enjoy more time there with some margaritas or Pina colatas. Staff was very friendly, quick, helpful and welcoming. I had the pork tamale, chicken chalupa and chicken taco. My dad had the steak quesadilla and steak taco. All was superb! Tamale just amazing. Will definitely recommend. Their chips and salsa A+. Bathrooms were very clean.

This was our first visit, and we were impressed! The menu has a large variety of items to choose from, our server was helpful answering questions as we tried to narrow down our selections.

The chips and salsa were good, though the tiny salsa dish was only half full when brought to our table. I was about to ask for more salsa to accompany our remaining bowl of chips, but our food arrived before I had a chance. Portions were generous, and quite tasty! Service was also good, and the servers were friendly.

After a couple of other disappointing Mexican food restaurant experiences in Payson, this was a nice change of pace, we’ll definitely be back!

El Rodeo was a bit of a letdown. We’ve never been to Payson until now but we had heard good things about the Mexican Food in the area, so we decided to dine at El Rodeo for dinner. We had a movie to catch in about an hour and a half, but we figured we’d have plenty of time.

We thought wrong. The service was some of the slowest service we have ever had in recent memory. Not friendly, and certainly not attentive. It took 15 minutes to get Chips and Salsa and a Horchata, and another 25 minutes for our food.

The food wasn’t great given the large wait time. Spinach dip had a plasticky texture. My Dad said his enchiladas were cold on the inside. The only thing that I liked was the Mar y Tierra taco, which is a shrimp taco with mayonnaise broiled to be made crispy. Horchata and Chips & Salsa were decent as well. Still not worth the wait though.

We won’t be back, probably ever.

We love Mexican food and love hitting up those restaurants. This place had a great vibe, fantastic food, very filling, the service was fantastic. A truly great experience. It was my wife’s birthday and they gave her a surprise, very nice of them. We ordered the Fajita Supreme, the Hawaiian Quesadilla, and kids menu Mac n cheese. The portions are bigger than what we get in the Valley. The prices are good as well. We went on a Sunday night so it wasn’t very busy. The margarita was so good, not too sweet, not overly strong. Perfect.

It was our first time here last night.
We sat at the bar and had excellent service.
Decor and vibe were beautiful and chill; although a bit chilly.
Margaritas were delicious (not too sweet), strong, and inexpensive. Chips and salsa were delicious; not too spicy.
We were disappointed in our chicken tacos, rice and black beans, unfortunately. The chicken was dry and not much flavor in any of it. But we will definitely return and try something else on the menu.

We were stay in a hotel within walking distance and from the outside, we said well if we don’t care for it when we walk in, we will go someplace else. We stayed! It’s the cutest cowboy/rodeo themed decor. Excellent service, our waitress was so friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious! We started with the shrimp appetizer that was amazing and followed by a main course that was very authentic. The food was absolutely delicious but I was impressed by the seating. Every chair and table has an original hand painted western picture on them and the details in the design was very well thought out.

The best Mexican food in town. The food was delicious. The horchata was really good too. Will definitely be coming back. The only down side is that they only take cash. Also they didn’t seem to have a kids menu.

This review is really based on this one $32 steak. We get a lot of food to go. A lot. So we understand completely COMPLETELY that what is intended to be eaten in a restaurant is not going to be the same when it sits in a box for a ride home. Understand that and accept that wholeheartedly. But this is a travesty a hoodwinkery and a bamboozlement all rolled into one shameful plate of gross incompetence. First of all the name of the product is horrible at best. But I was pretty positive they couldn’t be selling horse but this sure doesn’t look like the picture or any ribeye I’ve ever been charged $32 for. $145 ticket on a 4 top and this is the nightmare you get for $32?? Not to mention or maybe I have it not only looked like a horror show but it tasted worse. Where’s the garlic sauce? Or anything that would make someone think the chef or cook gave a damn about his job or the people he was serving.

Other than that everything was very nice. Really good service awesome pina colada cold beer clean looking stuff on the walls and a tv to look at. Oh the cheese dip was cold.

The food was pretty good and there are a few unique items on the menu. The service was very good, I didn’t know what I wanted and just asked the waitress to recommend something, which she did. I also had a good margarita, which I recommend. Lastly, the chips were fresh and the salsa is pretty good, it has a bit of a smokey flavor to it. Nice place!
