This place is a old classic breaded grease burger. They are awesome! Once a year I go for my system clean out!

If you’re looking for a high end experience, this isn’t your place. If you’re looking for good local burgers, this is the spot. The burgers were a little greasy, but good burgers are usually a bit greasy. I like that they had cayenne in a shaker for just a bit more spice. The place had a consistent flow of patrons while we were there.

UPDATE 11/28/2023 If you have not been, you do not know what you’re missing! AWESOME!

Should be rated 10+ Stars! Truly a retro hamburger joint, serving great food, good service and super friendly people. I just ,happened to be driving by and caught a glimpse of the location. Does not look like much from the outside; the inside on the other hand is nothing but great food and service. Has a 97 rating on the wall. You see your burgers and fries being cooked and prepped, served in a paper bag and you’re ready to eat! Look forward to a return visit. If you haven’t been her you haven’t been to Athens! Thanks!

One of my favorite spots to eat growing up. Dubs makes one of the best burgers in Athens. It’s so delicious and greasy you can see through the paper it’s wrapped in! Also, very reasonable prices. If you like to try those “hole-in-the-wall” type restaurants this is a great spot with friendly service.

Okay, this place has… History. It’s been here for years, and if you like their food, hats off to you. It’s a novel experience, and I do appreciate the fact it’s Very Cheap. If you already eat here, nothing I say is going to convince you to change your mind. If you’re looking for a hole in the wall type local flavor, it’s certainly that.

Okay. I’ve been here twice now, and these are some of the blandest burgers I’ve ever eaten. I mean, meat wise the patties have less taste than the condiments. They are left on the grill so long there’s a layer of crispy brown on the top and bottom, while inside is a light grey. They’re extremely greasy, and I genuinely don’t know what a fresh cooked patty tastes like as they have a number of them sitting on the grill, ready to go. No idea how long they’ve been sitting there, but hey, they’re Really cheap.

The fries are overcooked, unsalted, and I genuinely believe they need to change out their oil just a little more often.

Lastly, I got water, cause I was being just That Cheap. It was a solid cup of ice with some water in it. I’m… Flabbergasted. You doing that with the soda, I get it, gotta get every penny of profit you can when your whole selling point Is being a cheap place to grab lunch. But doing that with the water? Oofta guys.

If you need a bunch of food for cheap and you have a hankering for a different taste profile than McDonald’s, absolutely come here. Like I said, it’s a novel experience, and I’ll probably be back, cause sometimes, you just want a greasy, cheap burger.

This is a great slug burger. The flat top grill adds a nice crispy sear to the patty. The slaw is tart and the ketchup, mustard, and pickle complement it well. It’s a wonderful greasy burger. Classic, old fashioned food.

Also, get a fried chocolate pie. Delicious!

This is my favorite place to go eat with my son in Athens. The slaw burgers are awesome and so are the onion rings. My son’s favorite is the fried chocolate pie. The atmosphere is fun and everyone is friendly.

Solid local burger at a place that’s still keeping a small town feel.

I went in around lunch time and ordered one hamburger and one cheese burger to go the food was great like the old time hamburger with the buns warmed on the grill. My complaint is the lady putting the condiments on the buns was wearing gloves which is great but she went and wiped off a table after two customers had just left with a nasty looking rag then went straight back to putting the condiments on my hamburger buns and placing them on my hamburger she never changed gloves after cleaning off a nasty table. Just because their wearing gloves doesn’t mean you can touch every nasty thing in site and go back to handling people’s food that’s about as nasty as you can get. I want be going back. Some one needs to teach them about cleanliness.
