We were two for dinner that shared fresh-baked naan garlic bread, samosa chaat with yogurt and chutneys, for mains a chicken tikka masala with basmati rice, a very generous and tasty lamb biryani with saffron rice, all with two glasses of wine, water and for only €30/pax.
We ordered quite a few dishes, and every single one was bursting with flavor. The Mumbai Fried Chicken was an instant hit with the kids – perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, with just the right balance of spices. The Anda Bhurji was rich, flavorful, and full of that signature Mumbai street-food taste. The Bombay Vada Pao was another standout – it truly transported us back to Mumbai with its authentic flavor and perfect spice balance.
The Chicken Curry was hearty and delicious, while the Dal Makhani was a comforting, creamy delight – an excellent choice for vegetarians. Every dish tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and packed with just the right amount of spice and character.
Overall, Bombay Republic offers an outstanding Indian dining experience in Lisbon – flavorful food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere for families.
Prices are high. Photo is 24€ — 16 entree, 4 for rice, 4 for naan. Management should look into adjusting prices, especially on items like rice and naan.
I have eaten out in a dozen or so countries in the EU and these prices are high for many capital cities, including the rest of Lisbon. They are comparable with a downtown cafe in a prime location, which this is not. It should be a hint that the restaurant is nearly empty at dinnertime. I would not come back.
If you adore indian food cooked with authenticity and love this is the place to go.
Would recommend.
Prices are on the higher side, but the overall experience was pleasant and well executed.
Lovers of Indian / Nepalese food will definitely bot leave dissapointed. I would recommend to try biryanis and samosa chaat.
