I dined here on a Thursday afternoon after arriving to New York with a couple of friends, as our airbnb was close to the restaurant. I read many great reviews so I was hopeful, and upon entering, the atmosphere was quite cozy and inviting. There was a nice Christmas tree and the staff allowed us to store our luggage by the tree. We started off with some calamari, which was fried well and tasted great. Then, we shared two mains: rigatoni bolognese and the sausage pizza. We enjoyed the pasta a lot, however, the pizza left much to be desired. It was not that flavourful and the meat was scarce. Also, I felt like it could have been hotter.
Finally, when we paid, I noticed an automatic 20% tip included in the cost. We weren’t even a big group, so I don’t understand why we would have been charged that without being notified prior. Moreover, be careful not to fall for the “sparkling or spring water?” question if you’re not willing to pay almost $10 for a bottle of water; ask for tap. Our bill with two mains, one side, and a drink, came out to be more than $80.
Overall, the food here was decent, but definitely not the best Italian food I’ve had. The atmosphere was nice, however, the service charges were a bit off-putting and negatively impacted our experience at this restaurant.

Hands down one of the best Italian restuarant anywhere, including Italy. Tomato sauce, meat, olive oil, seafood all super fresh. The chef and servers are super friendly yet not pushy. Beautiful atmosphere with lively Italian music in the background. Just Perfect dinning exp. I would come back again and again. The best part- BYOB!
So yummy we ended up ordering more food and took out another Pizza to go.

This was the best pasta I’ve had in the U.S. so far. If you like spicy food, I highly recommend adding some chili flakes. I couldn’t try the pizza since I was dining alone, but it gives me a good reason to come back. If you’re staying anywhere near this area, make sure to stop by — this isn’t an ad, just my honest opinion. The staff were incredibly friendly too.

Do not miss the opportunity to eat here. The food is home made, exquisite & an experience. Closest Ive had to my Nonna’s cooking yet. From the cheesy garlic bread, the fried calamari, Nonna’s lasagna to the homemade sauce, everything was amazing. The owner & staff made it even more enjoyable. I dont often leave reviews. Bella’s Trattoria deserves it! Thanks for a lovely meal!

From start to finish a great experience. This was more than just eating at a restaurant for dinner, my family and I felt like we were family guest. The Chicken Francese and chicken piccata were the best we’ve had. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We brought our own wine and beer and were accommodated with glasses and had our beer kept refrigerated. We were visiting the area but we will definitely be back!

WOW this food is Phenomenal!!! All the pasta dishes were amazing and the PIZZA was better than New York pizza, seriously. It takes me 30 minutes to get here, but I will definitely make the trip anytime I want good pizza or Italian food, because it is WORTH it. Even something as simple as the cheese garlic bread… was so mouthwatering good.

This place can go toe to toe with any Italian place in North Jersey. Was pleasantly surprised at how fresh the cesar salad was, the chicken francese was perfectly battered , soft and so much flavor!!. We had a small family get together, party of 19 people and they were super accommodating. The service was wonderful. Very attentive, offered plenty of Parmesan cheese!! It seems silly but not many places take the time to do this. Finished dinner with a cappuccino which was also excellent. Can’t wait to visit this place next time I’m in the area.

I had the opportunity to dine at this place and the experience was excellent from start to finish.
I ordered the Penne a la Vodka and I was really impressed. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the creamy sauce had an ideal balance between the flavor of the tomato, the softness of the cream and the subtle touch of the vodka. It was noticeable that they used fresh and quality ingredients.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, the service attentive and fast. Without a doubt, a place I will return to soon. Highly recommended!

It’s the worst experience I ever had, not because the food is mediocre and over priced but because the restaurant rip us off in our face! We came in expecting a nice lunch based on all the good reviews, but the seafood tasted like frozen, even garlic and basil was not fresh you can’t taste the herb. When the bill came we are surprised our waiter Edgar charged us 20% tip for lunch for 2 in a slow afternoon where the restaurant was empty!! Then after we paid we found out he put an additional $3 saying that’s credit card fee ( he charged us 5% but the receipt says 3% fee! See picture of receipts. This restaurant is dishonest and lack of basic integrity and I hope more people are aware of their fishy business ⛔️⚠️‼️
