I’m giving this 5 star for the price point. The ambiance was cool, our waitress was attentive. The green tea was good and they offered refills (sounds silly but some places haven’t lately, which is huge turn off) and the food was enjoyable. We waited a while to try it and I’m glad we did. A quiet little nook.

We had such a wonderful time here. We came here for our anniversary dinner and the service, atmosphere, and food were all amazing!

We ordered drinks, appetizers, sushi, and entrees; the courses were all brought out in a tiered order so our table didn’t get over crowded with plates and we weren’t sitting waiting either. The drinks were also delicious.

The restaurant is dimly lit to create a romantic and comfortable experience, the dishes were as beautiful as they were yummy. Our server was incredibly kind, checking in on us constantly and clearing our table between dishes. We felt incredibly pampered and it truly helped make the night magical!

This is our second time eating here, and the service was just as wonderful the first time!

We ordered here yesterday for the first time during Christmas. Given the business of restaurants during Christmas, there is a lot of grace that should be afforded. Even with that taken into consideration, the experience was really subpar.

First, we placed our order over the phone and were told it would be a 60 minute wait, possibly a bit more. Given this, we arrived at the restaurant 1 hour and 30 minutes after we had placed the order. One of the workers checked in with us, took our name and cell phone number and didn’t say anything else. No one talked to us again for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, they came to us to ask us for our payment, which my husband and I asked to split on two cards. It didn’t matter; they ended up charging my card twice. After they took our payment, they took our copies of our receipts away from us and told us it would be another 20-25 minutes for our food.

30 minutes later, we asked about our order status. They took our name and cell phone number again. At this point it was clear to us that they hadn’t even placed our order until we paid, so there was no point in ordering ahead. They were on order 290 and our order was supposed to be 240. They told us 2-3 more minutes.

We waited another 20+ minutes and finally received our order. At this point, it had been over three hours since we placed the order and over an hour and a half since we arrived at the restaurant. We wanted to check it to make sure it was correct, and they gave us a bit of an attitude for that. But who would want to wait another three hours to have some corrected?

During this time it’s worth pointing out that no one appeared to be dining in, there were just “to go” orders, and everyone seemed to be getting their orders before ours, except for one other couple that was there before us and were still there waiting after us. For all we know, they may still be at the restaurant today.

Being busy is one thing, and understandable, but the disorganization, billing mistakes, and lack of customer service are another. Everyone was clearly stressed because they spent most of the time screaming at one another, with the two FOH workers crouched behind the bar where no one could see them. Not super professional.

The food was pretty lackluster as well. We ordered General Tso’s Tofu and it looks like they used silken tofu so we got a pile of fried breading and pile of unseasoned silken tofu all swarming around one another. Definitely not worth $50 and a plus three hour wait.

The seaweed salad tasted slimy. The sushi nigiri was mediocre at best. When I ate the raw scallop I spit it out bc it tasted fishy and spoiled. The salmon was not fresh. We were still charged for seaweed salad even though I sent it back.
Edamame was decent. Will not return.

Food is amazing quality, service is really thoughtful and even serves you extra things out of kindness. Atmosphere is wonderful and beautiful. All the right places for a good date, a family reunion, or any other dining experience! Why is this place rated so low?! <3

Side Note: This place has really good tempura shrimp! The only thing that would make it better is to serve coconut shrimp as well!

East Moon has no right to be this good. I have tried almost everything. Their Mongolian beef is so good and the sticky rice is the best I have ever had. I have ordered from here more than 20 times and they are consistently dishing up perfection.

I’m puzzled by some of the low ratings. My wife and I are not fussy, but we are particular, and last night’s delivery dinner was top notch. We were told that the order would take 25 minutes to prep and deliver. It arrived in 15 – piping hot, very carefully packaged. The two wonton soup orders were sealed in plastic bags as an extra precaution. The grilled pork loin had an unexpected smoky flavor. A bit dry, but that’s the risk with lean pork. Tasty and satisfying nonetheless and the dryness was not a reason to take away a star. The mussels were fresh-tasting and large. The tempura was hot, crunchy, and made for a great app. The wonton soup was traditional except that the wontons were sized smaller than you’d expect, but there were many in each serving. The steamed shrimp Shumai were chewy and also tasty, especially the dipping sauce. The flavor of the shrimp came through. I used the YELP delivery search feature (THANKS YELP DESIGNERS!), which gave me an opportunity to not only search Asian restaurants but also compare menus and prices. East Moon’s prices were in line with many other similar restaurants. BTW, BONUS – NO delivery fee! As another yelper commented, you can order online but not pay online. They will in fact call you for your credit card – FAST. I’m ok with that process. Don’t know the reason for this. Maybe to prevent fraud? In any event, East Moon has been here for many, many years and we’ve not eaten here for some time, mainly because of having so many choices in this great town, but because of last night’s positive experience, we will add East Moon to our regular rotation.

The food was great. The service was great. I am sensitive to air fresheners and there was a strong smell that was not good for a food experience.
