My husband and I came here for our weekly date night, and it did not disappoint. As soon as I saw gumbo on the menu, I knew I had to try it. We started with the Voodoo Balls, and they were absolutely fabulous—crispy, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal.
I ordered the gumbo along with the Big Easy. The gumbo had a bit of a spicy kick, but nothing overwhelming—still very enjoyable. The Big Easy, however, completely stole the show. It was hands down the best dish of the night—rich, flavorful, and perfectly executed.
My husband ordered the Lake Pontchartrain, which he rated a solid 8.5 out of 10. Even so, he agreed with me that the Big Easy was the clear winner of the evening.
A great spot for a fun, flavorful date night—we’ll definitely be back!

The Bayou Kitchen and Lounge was a serendipitous find. My party was warmly served by Aaliyah, and we wanted to know if the offerings matched her convivial demeanor. She described the specials in great detail. The Swamp Water matched its description as a standard mixed drink with a tasty New Orleans twist. Then, we started our lunch with parmesan chargrilled oysters and the Buck Jump shrimp. We had split opinions on the oysters, but we unanimously agreed that the shrimp was delicious. It was a great portion size, and the Buck jump sauce added a savory zesty flavor. Our satisfaction continued through the Lake Pontchartrain, crawfish étoufée style. However, the red fish version of the dish was overcooked and had a poor presentation. The Bayou Lobster Mac brought us back to our original mood with the good flavors created by the hot and cheesy noodles. The dish had an equal balance of lobster and shrimp. Finally, our sweet taste buds were satisfied with hot, light, and fluffy beignets.
The restaurant was a quaint location in a shopping plaza that turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

Really good spot to check out, we went here after a day out on the town and settled in with some really nice cocktails, a couple of appetizers, and some amazing desserts. Really cool cocktail list. Great ambience low-key New Orleans style atmosphere and laid-back, exactly perfect for a great experience. You have to check this place out.

I took my dad here for his birthday and it was phenomenal!!!! The service was incredible, we got appetizers and dessert. It was so good it was unreal. Definitely my favorite Cajun restaurant. My mom loved the Cajun fried rice and she’s very snobby about food. The service was so good

Food was amazing! The service was fantastic! The gumbo is the best in Orlando I’ve never had and they even won an award for their gumbo!! My server informed me that they most things in the restaurant are imported from Louisiana, so thy really are authentic. I do plan on attending again

Everything here was delicious! There isn’t a dish we tried that we wouldn’t recommend and gladly order again. Big portions, great temperature and flavor, and easily the best quality NOLA food in the area. The authenticity runs from the food to the decorations to the football or parades playing on the TVs. Favorites included the gator bites, lobster mac n cheese, redfish and grits, cornbread, and of course, the bread pudding. No raisins to ruin dessert, just sheer perfection. The beignets are fantastic, too! Service is great: friendly, helpful, and the right amount of attentiveness. A perfect casual spot for lunch or dinner when you want to relax and have fantastic food.

Great atmosphere with an old Louisiana Blues aesthetic. Friendly staff and plenty of seating. The food is also fantastic, and really budget-friendly. Gator, shrimp, crawfish, brisket; it’s all here. And even their french fries are excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

I from Houston my wife and I went to Orlando for vacation and made the drive to The Bayou Kitchen & Lounge twice. The food was AMAZING and the young lady RAVEN that helped us was very nice and professional. Special THANKS to the owners who came out and gave me an umbrella for my wife it was raining like crazy that day. THANK YOU SIR.

My siblings and I went in for dinner tonight , and the ambience was a vibe.. it felt so comfortable inside and our waitress Lilly is an amazing young lady her welcome vibes were very comforting .. ☺️ keep being you your light shines bright ..Food was amazing my hat’s off to you Chef K . You are doing a wonderful job beautiful place.. I really enjoyed myself and the food and drinks I had a piece of fried Red Fish and the Bourbon Street fried rice .. so glad to hear that you all are in Sanford as well downtown 1st St.. so if you guys want to experience Authentic Cajun check them out and tell them I sent you great place to unwind and enjoy your evening!
