Just had another wonderful dining experience at Spice Club this evening. The service is first class. I’m always made to feel like a VIP. Food is always made with high standards of professionalism with well measured levels of seasoning and spice. The chicken tikka was well marinaded and tender.

First visit was 2 yrs ago and it was very disappointing.
Fast forward to a month ago and visited again with my wife as part of a group of 16. I must say we were impressed, the service and the quality of the food were spot on. Visited again last night (6pm on a Sunday ) and once again the food quality and quantity were fantastic.
Spotlessly clean but could do with some atmospheric lighting and maybe some authentic background music. However, we will definitely return.

Amazing food. The chicken was cooked to perfection, it fell asleep in my mouth it was that succulent. Will definitely be returning next time we are in cockermouth 🙂 staff are very polite and pleasant too.

It was a quiet Monday evening at The Spice Club Cockermouth and the staff were very welcoming upon our arrival. The restaurant looked very clean and nicely laid out. Drinks were quick to arrive, probably because we were the only 2 in there at opening time A brilliant menu with a great choice of starters and mains. The Garlic Mushrooms were delicious and perfect. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala were perfect, just the right portion size and couldn’t fault it. Happy with the price and would definitely recommend The Spice Club.

Came in here for an Indian meal, place was really busy, one table seemed a little loud and drunk, so I asked to move and they got me a table in a quieter part of the restaurant. Staff were polite, service was quick, prices are reasonable for this area and there was parking right outside. The food was okay, not bad for a place that dosnt have an local asian population, but the aloo chaat came hot with a sweet flavour, when chaat is supposed to be a cold dish with a combination of sweet, sour and spiced flavours…… not a bad effort and I would visit again though…..

We enjoyed a late dinner on Monday evening. The staff provided a high-level of service. We both ordered a biryani (mixed meat and veggie) and were really happy with the presentation and quality. This is the first place I’ve been to where the biryani is served with a curry, which I really liked. The portion was large and flavorful, which meant we had enough for lunch the next day. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Spice Club to others.

Chicken Biryani and tandoori chicken was dry and not very tasty unfortunately, however subsequent balti dishes have been good. Loweswater gold beer very smooth. Small but reasonable vegetable samosas good, but poor value pickle tray for poppadoms quite bland. Can get very busy, bookings may be needed.

I went to Spice Club with a friend. It’s good value for the quality of food. It’s my favorite Indian food restaurant in Cumbria. For a starters, mains and drinks it usually about £70 for both of us (Nov 25). The service and atmosphere are both great. Definitely recommend it.
