I’m from KC , so I know good BBQ. This is toe to toe some of the best. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food I had today. My brisket was so tender that it kept falling apart. Very lean turkey and brisket , barely any fat ! The grits are smooth and creamy and so tasty. The beans are so unique with fresh red pepper. The vanilla dessert was fresh and smooth , so enjoyable with fresh strawberries. Jordan makes an amazing Blackberry lemonade. Carissa came by to make sure I didn’t need anything else. Very friendly, caring staff.

Just OK. I was really hoping to find some good bbq while visiting. I came in on a Thursday at 5pm but still didn’t expect the whole place to myself. The brisket was dry and not so tender. The sausage was ok. The Mac and cheese was really good tho

The two bright spots of our meal were the mack ‘n cheese and the stoner sauce on the tater tots.
Admittedly, I’m a bit biased when it comes to BBQ. I’ve eaten the best BBQ Texas has to offer and this place doesn’t even rate.
I didn’t expect to find the greatest BBQ in downtown Jeff City, but i also didn’t expect to get served what looked and tasted like warmed up vacuum packed brisket and sausage.
It was dry and flavorless and I didn’t have to wonder why they offered six different sauces on the table. It would’ve been difficult to choke down the brisket and sausage without it.
The service was okay and the beer menu is pretty limited. This is the only BBQ place I’ve eaten in Jeff City but I hope the other offerings are better than this one.
If you’re craving brisket and sausage in Jeff, try one of the other offerings. I didn’t expect much, but come on. You can find better brisket and sausage in your own back yard.
The service was the brightest spot on this trip and that’s not all a BBQ joint should have to offer. And at $70 for two of us, this was way over priced.

Wow! I’d rate them 20 out of 5 if I could. Best bbq I’ve ever had, exceptional service, atmosphere, music, vibe was great! We had the boss hog to split and sides of Mac n cheese creamy deliciousness and stoner tots crispy tots with their potato salad dressing on top. I was tempted to lick the bottom of the dressing off the basket it was that good. Brisket, pulled pork, Turkey and sausage best I’ve ever had and perfectly seasoned and smoked. I don’t like pickles and my 17 yo son had me try the pickles and I loved them actually along with the pickeled apple slices I ate all of them. I ordered Nikki’s Fruit Punch cocktail and it was perfectly tropical and tasty! Service was fast for food and drinks and waitress was delightful, attentive, and friendly. We are headed back tonight before we leave early tomorrow morning.

My husband and I stopped in the downtown location for lunch on our 9/11 trip to the capital and it was great! From the moment we walked in we got suggested sides (jalapeno cheesy grits) from other customers.
Our server Maya was very polite and hooked us up with The Boss Hogg platter to share. All the different meats were cooked to perfection and the seasoning was so good we bought some to take home!
If you’re in the area I definitely recommend a special trip to see Maya, Nikki, Zoe & Jordan. You with not regret it!!

My favorite bbq spot of all time! Do yourself a favor and try everything, but especially the cheddar jalapeno grits! Everything I’ve had here is fantastic and the vibe is worth the trip alone. Friendly and fast service!

Loved the sauces. All four of them. I’m not usually down with Carolina mustard, but this was good. The put beans were awesome. Meat added to them and smoked. But the cheddar jalapeño grits were the best thing on this tray. Unbelievably good. Rich and tangy. Not hot. The only thing is the ribs had quite a pull to them. I was their first customer of the day, so they may have needed to go a little longer, but the rub was sweet and there was a nice smoke ring. Other than a little tough, they were delicious.

Hubby didn’t want to.cook so I found a place on my list to try. He had been before and wanted to go… so off we went. We got the Boss Hog, which Eugene recommended. Great suggestion! It had all the meats, two sides and its the best value.all the meats were good, but tonight the turkey was my favorite. The Carolina sauce is mustard based and we joke with them that it is not ‘Carolina’ sauce. The hot was good but different. Hot with a little sweet which was unexpected. The Jalapeño grits were also very good. They were way creamier that this southern girl.is uses to, but I didn’t have to add salt and they were actually spicey! Definitely recommend them. Service was great. The bartender hooked me.up.with a very refreshing mixed vodka drink. Overall great experience.

Loved eating here. Nice laid back atmosphere and really good bbq! The server was very helpful and suggested many things this diabetic girl could eat. Settled on the tacos that featured pork, beef and chicken all perfectly cooked and still juicy as good bbq should be. I loved the fact that they offered a side of fruit which was also perfectly ripe.
Well worth a visit if you are Jefferson City.
