Edison Pizza – A Local Staple with Excellent Gluten-Free Options

Edison Pizza has long been a staple in the Edison, NJ community. While the outside plaza may look a bit rundown, stepping inside reveals a well-kept, inviting space where the food truly shines.

I’ve enjoyed their pizza in the past, but this visit was special. Using a gluten-free app, I discovered that Edison Pizza offers gluten-free pizza—a big deal for my son, who has celiac disease. We visited as a family, and everyone ordered a variety of slices: pepperoni, BBQ chicken, Sicilian, along with some garlic knots. For my son, we ordered a gluten-free pizza.

The staff went above and beyond. The man behind the counter and his team were patient, helpful, and even brought the gluten-free pizza to our table, despite there being no waiter service at lunchtime. Their kindness and attention made the experience even better.

The regular pizza was delicious, just as I remembered, and the 12-inch individual gluten-free pizza was outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and very satisfying. My son loved it, which is not always the case with gluten-free options.

Overall, Edison Pizza continues to impress. Whether you’re looking for classic slices or gluten-free choices, this spot delivers both quality and great service.

Very nice spot and the service was great. The fried calamari and garlic knots were very good. The Sicilian pizza was excellent and the chicken parm was ok.

Was happy to find this place open before 11AM on my way from an appointment back to the office. Stopped in for slice and everything behind the counter looked fresh, even at that early hour. Opted for a Grandma slice and it was excellent. Kid working the counter was friendly and seating area was comfortable. Would definitely return if in the area again.

The interesting thing about Edison Pizza is that pizza is probably what they do worst. If you order any non pizza menu item you’re likely to be very happy. Their cheese steaks are hearty and delicious. Mozzarella sticks, excellent. Vodka sauce best around. Chicken Parm, top notch. French fries, maybe my favorite restaurant fry of all time. But the pizza tends to be meh. If you get a slice from under the glass when it’s fresh, it’s good, but if you order a pie for home consumption you are almost guaranteed to feel disappointed and maybe even a little cheated. Just the weight of the box when they hand it to you has you calculating price per pound in your head, then when you open the box, the crust is always dry. In short, Edison Pizza is 5+ stars for their non-pizza menu, 4 stars for their by-the-slice, and 2.5 stars for their whole pies.

So it was my first time ordering food from here , everyone was friendly when I came in and the painting on doors is super cute , pizza was good and garlic knots where juicy and loved the marinara sauce . I love that there was lots o drink options to chose from ! Price was deff right ! I got a lot of food for under $60 . I will be back and excited to try other items from the menu ! Thank you see you soon.

I used to always order personalized pizza from here. I’d get half grilled chicken and the other half eggplant. I would order from this restaurant 1-2 times a week. But i noticed the older lady with red hair (who claimed to be the manager) consistently gets my order wrong, or there seems to be something missing when she takes my order. There was a time she completely forgot about my order when I arrived to pick it up, and there have been times she gave me the wrong order for delivery. Whenever I inform her that my order is inaccurate, she just doesn’t seem to care and tells me to wait; she doesn’t sound friendly or seem to care about her work that much. I never had this issue with any other employees at this restaurant.
Today, I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which came out to $17. I wanted to see if I could get other sides besides the bread, but there were no other options-just spaghetti and bread. I later noticed that the menu I saw on Google stated it’s $12.50, not $17. I’m also unhappy that I had to pick up napkins and utensils from another restaurant since the food I ordered didn’t come with any. The big piece of bread I received was stale and hard so i ended up not eating it. In my opinion, paying $17 for two meatballs and pasta without anything else is a bit steep and was disappointing with my overall experience.

We really liked our waitress, Alyssa. She was so sweet and gave great recommendations. The wings were so great that I would highly recommend them. The gnocchi was a little overcooked but still okay.

This is an amazing pizzeria! Been coming here for over 35 years. Your basic large cheese is the standard for Jersey style pies. Subs are fantastic, service is family like. Highly recommend

Really love Edison Pizza. Roberto has transformed the pizzeria into the future with quality and quantity. The food has always been excellent but today the food continues in excellence and topped with the updated atmosphere, our family is in heaven and totally enjoy our many visits. I told Rob my Indian colleague did not eat meat. He took the initiative to create a meatless lasagna that she loved so much, she hets it for her friends at the Temple down the street.

5***** restaurant with extremely moderate pricing. Check out their daily specials. We were on summer vacation a few years back and ran into Robs mom and dad in a small town, Carini. It made our trip so enjoyable. More than 50 years in Edison. Edison Pizza is a “go to” institution here. Cent’Anni!
