My husband is a big car guy and I can’t tell a super car apart from a 1992 pinto, but I can tell you that we both absolutely adored our experience at Brakes & Briskets. We rolled in around 10am on a Sunday morning, and we could both feel the welcoming, friendly, community energy immediately. I can’t explain it in words, but it was just felt like positive vibes in abundance. There were vendor tents set up outside the restaurant itself which added a fun ‘street fair’ energy to the experience. Also outside were a lot of fancy cars that my husband was fully geeking out over. The crowd was a beautiful mixture of ages, races, families, couples, and solo visitors. We went inside to order and I was shocked at how large the interior is and how thoughtfully it’s designed – little touches like a sticker wall in the back, Top Gear playing on the giant TV and little trinkets that provide nods to bbq and cars are scattered throughout.
Now enough about the ambience, let’s get to THE FOOD – which honestly there’s not too much I need to say about it. It’s just some DAMN GOOD bbq. Periodt! We ordered ‘The Sampler” for the 2 of us to split and it was perfect! It was served in a foil tray (again, another thoughtful detail that I found so cute and charming) and we also got a Melonade slushie and legit every single item was a total knockout. You can easily see and taste that everything is home made and made with skill and care. The BBQ Chicken was the moistest, most flavorful bbq chicken I’ve ever had (and I’ve had alot of really good bbq in my lifetime). The mac and cheese was thicccccccc with 10 ‘C’s. The rib was fall off the bone tender. You can see the fresh ground black pepper in the coleslaw and the jalapeno cornbread was moist and the jalapeno added more flavor than heat – every single thing on that sampler platter was truly spectacular and there’s nothing that I wouldn’t want to order the next time.
I highly recommend you give this local business, that is beautifully focused on community (they offer discounts/free items if you can prove to them that you volunteered in the community recently!) a try!
It’s not your mom & pop BBQ… Shayne & Phuong take it to another level.
The meats are perfectly seasoned and smoked and the sides are freshly made. Our favorite is the Brisket , Beef ribs and coleslaw.
Restaurant is coming together nicely and can’t wait to see the final product. The crowd is super chill and the atmosphere is amazing.
It’s worth the trip for sure. And did I mention the Brisket…
Highly recommend!
As a car enthusiast and someone who genuinely appreciates good food and well-curated spaces, this place hits a unique sweet spot. Yes, they just opened, and like any new business, especially one this ambitious, there are things they’re still refining. But that’s part of the charm — watching a passionate team build something that’s more than just a garage or a BBQ spot.
What stood out to me:
Atmosphere: There’s real thought put into the design and experience. It’s clearly built for the culture — not just quick service.
The Staff: Welcoming, transparent, and clearly working hard to balance excitement with logistics. They care, and that matters.
The Food: Legit. The brisket was flavorful, tender, and generously portioned — way better than you’d expect for a place people assume is “just about cars.”
Community Energy: This isn’t some faceless chain — it’s an enthusiast’s vision brought to life. That deserves patience and support, not instant judgment.
If you’re walking in expecting instant perfection on day one, you’re missing the point. Brakes & Briskets is building something special — and I’m excited to watch it grow. Give them your business, your encouragement, and your appetite. You won’t regret it.
I will definitely be here at least twice a month!
There was concern about the unexpected thunderstorms, but if ever there was a way the local car community could show its love for these folks and their outstanding food, this was it.
*Must-tries: Brisket burnt ends, mac & cheese, jalapeño cornbread, and don’t skip the condiments.
The cars are just a bonus. Hopefully the neighbors realize what a gem of a place this is and open up their doors for parking.
We are extremely lucky to be able eat their delicious bbq any Sunday now. Can’t wait for what the future has in store!
