If you’re anywhere near the beach and craving top-notch Mexican food, this place is a must-visit! The service was incredibly attentive from the moment we walked in — friendly, fast, and they really made us feel welcome. The portions are huge, so come hungry!
The star of the show was definitely the raw oyster dish topped with tons of fresh ceviche — absolutely packed with flavor, super fresh, and beautifully presented. It’s one of those dishes you think about long after the meal is over. Everything else we tried was equally delicious and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Can’t wait to come back!

I am a local and I love to support the business’s down here. I have always ordered to go, but I will no longer do to go orders. The food was good, like any other Mexican restaurant. I have ordered to go a few times and it seems no matter what I order the bill is crazy. If you ever order cheese dip don’t ask for a large, it’s $15.99. I put it next to the two salsas they gave me and it was the same size. Be sure to just ask for 2 regular cheese dips. They’re $5.99 a piece. They even charged me 2 times for a to go cost one for my food and one for the cheese dip. I was so happy we got a good Mexican restaurant down here but I can’t support them no longer. I never leave reviews but I felt I needed to share this.

This place was a pleasant surprise for us on our last trip to Holden Beach. We had heard many good things but finally got to try it out. I had the Quesabirria tacos and they were very good! My wife said she could eat nothing but their rice all day long. We also had the choriqueso dip which was also great! This will be another staple in our visits to Holden Beach.

I’d like to say I have high Mexican restaurant standards and Mini Jalapeño blew me away! Heck, our entire group. Walk in 8 table on a Thursday night around 8:30 – sat promptly. Service was excellent. The chips and salsa, excellent. Steak fajitas (with the jalapeños, of course) were…you guessed it, excellent! It was so good we got it for pickup 2 nights later. Great local spot and can’t recommend enough.

We love it here! The food is always fresh and fast. The prices are reasonable. We go for lunch all the time and order off the lunch menu, which is plenty of food for us, and I almost always have enough for lunch the next day. My husband can usually eat all of his though. The staff is always friendly and ok if there is a special request I have since I don’t do spicy foods. Definitely worth going to this place!

Went for a ride on my Harley over to Holden Beach on a great 70° day. I just gone over the causeway on the way home and noticed the Mini Jalapeno Restaurant. We were greeted immediately and seated in the nice warm dining room in January with a sweet bar across the room within authentic Mexican decor. They have several Mexican beverages that they make. Their homemade lemonade was very delicious. We had a choice of warm queso or salsa and chips. The warm queso fit the atmosphere and was delicious. I enjoyed the absolutely delicious fresh seafood burrito and highly recommend. Very much looking forward to returning to this little gem in Holden Beach.

Hands down, one of my favorite meals ever. The guacamole is delightful. I just had three tacos, each one more transcendent than the last. The jalapeño mango margarita was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
