Legit BBQ with a staff that cares!
Fall-off-the-bone ribs, richly flavored bourbon and hot sauces, tangy, garlicky green beans, perfect buns and slaw. We LOVED it, including three little kids who can be quite picky.
Generous portions meant we left with an extra meal. The owner was the sweetest lady who gave us some extra samples to try for free.
Located in a wonderful area with a selection of eateries and shops. A must visit in Lexington.

Ok are here for the first time today. The food here is incredible. The ribs were the most tender I have had in town. The pork belly was divine, the pulled chicken was excellent! The brisket was super tender.

We stopped in to try this fantastic bbq shop. When we go anywhere I have to try the local bbq and try all the meats. I’m happy I found this gem. 1st time having Kentucky bbq and it was fabulous!! I am used to Texas bbq with the seasonings and bbq sauce. Porterhouse bbq was a wonderful surprise. The sauces are completely different than usual with a sweet spicy kick.
We ordered 1 lb of pulled pork which is slightly sweet with a little bit of heat. Massive I mean massive container of meat. Well over a pound
The half rack of ribs are again slightly sweet with a little heat great seasonings tender well smoked
Brisket plate was great also great seasonings.
The sides though were the perfect addition. Green beans are garlicy and great.
Mac n cheese was cheesy with shreds instead of cheese sauce just the way I like it.
Smoked cabbage first time trying it and it was good.
Wonderful food all the way around.
The price was crazzzzzy cheap $50

This is my kind of BBQ. Fat that melts in your mouth from the pork belly. Sweet and spicy BBQ sauce and meats that taste delicious plain and with sauce. Loved the smoked cabbage side as well. I dare to say this was better meat than Blue Door….

This BBQ is awesome! Never disappoints I’ve had the ribs, pulled pork and brisket on several occasions and it’s always consistent. Today I took my son for lunch and he had the Mac and Cheese Bowl couldn’t eat it all, super size portions. No problem a little snack for later.

In short: I love this place. The meat was incredible, from the ribs that just melted off the bone and onto the tongue to the smoky-but-not-too-smoky pulled pork to the succulent chunk of gifted pork belly after I struggled between that and the ribs. The sides are not afterthoughts here, with the cheesiest of mac and cheese, tender-crisp smoky cabbage (what? yes.), and coleslaw that was allegedly delicious but my husband forgot to share. The kiddo had a big bunch of mac and cheese on her own, but I’m so glad we also got it for sides.
I ate far more than I needed and spent a little extra time on the treadmill today. We are at about 5:30 yesterday, and I’m only now about to eat breakfast today at 10 post-run. I’m eying that one rib I just couldn’t manage.
Forgot to mention: these people are super friendly. It’s family-oriented without being cheesy, with the fun option to sign the bricks. I loved this overall experience, pleased that they weren’t crowded because Covid but fully aware that the lack of crowds won’t last long if there is any food justice in this area. Go eat there. And yes, so far, it’s better than Blue Door, which is saying something. I’ll get brisket next time to confirm, and try the other sides if I can resist the mac and cheese.

Porterhouse BBQ laid the snack down tonight with their first time releasing Beef Short ribs. The bark was on point, excellent smoke ring, texture was porous and tender. Every bite was tasty and mouth watering.
As always the Mac and cheese held it down. Cheesy crust layer in every bite or all at once.

Great barbecue. Very tender, smoky meat. Best Mac and cheese. Very generous portions, I probably ate less than half of my Mac and cheese bowl.

By far the best BBQ in Lexington! Brisket was incredibly tender and juicy. You don’t really need sauce but the sweet heat is something else! Believe me you’ll leave stuffed and satisfied. Can’t wait to come back!
