Great neighborhood taproom with several good draft options. Greeted immediately when we entered. Seating choices included bar, high top and regular table options. Our smash burgers were cooked perfectly and were delicious. Keep in mind this is a bar first with a restaurant. Great service with great beers. Our food arrived at our table super fast after we placed our order; I mean really quickly.
We plan to come back in better weather so that we can enjoy some outdoor seating.

Very happy to see Black Lung come to fill the amazing space. It is a perfect location at the intersection of Center and Lake street. We were able to come in for the soft opening before they were fully open so some items may be different from our experience.
The restaurant is open and can be noisy because of the style of the room. There are beautiful art pieces showing off issue is Grayslake and parts of the brewery. They also have some arcade cabinets.
They had a decent menu that we were excited to try. We started the cheese curds. Sure it was more of cheese cubes instead of curds but they were massive and tasted great. My wife had the Summer Grove salad and I had the Habanero hot honey chicken sandwich. We were both very happy with our meals.
I had there Oktoberfest, left fork and the pistachio rose. The Oktoberfest was definitely my favorite followed by the pistachio rose. Would have loved to do a sampler but it wasn’t available yet.
If you are in the area it is definitely something to check out.

Great spot with good food, great service, and a good vibe. Had multiple beers and all were great and so were the cheese curds! They have a Galaga machine and a Metallica pinball machine too! Great spot to bring a kid as it’s pretty open and they can walk around a bit and be fine.

Had an amazing time at the soft opening for the Grayslake. The atmosphere was very chill. Everything was very clean very nice art. The staff was very attentive. We were greeted upon arrival and seated within a promptly time. We Had a party of five people. Our food came within a reasonable amount of time. everything was great! Waiter was very attentive and checked on our table multiple times. We arrived to our reservation at 5 PM and we were finished with our food and our stay by 6 PM! I’d say that’s great service!!

Fortunate to grab a reservation during their soft opening weekend–this is going to be a fantastic addition to the restaurant/bar lineup in Grayslake. Even the abbreviated soft opening menu had something for everyone, and the food was delicious. I love good crispy fries and these were spot-on! Appreciate the aesthetic updates to the space, and the Edison lights are a nice touch indoors. Our server was attentive and friendly and took good care of us. Looking forward to more visits in the future.

As a former LTL fan, I was excited to see this spot get turned into a brewery again 🙂
I went for dinner last night with a close friend and her daughter.
Neither of us are huge drinkers, but she liked the Oktoberfest and my sangria was good.
I’m hoping their menu will continue to expand? We split the goat cheese salad as an app, then I had the tomato bisque soup, and she had a jerk chicken sandwich. Salad and soup were really good, but the jerk chicken sandwich wasn’t amazing.
Great service & good atmosphere! Looking forward to trying a beyond burger in the future!

We didn’t realize the restaurant recently opened, but even so we hope the score of 3 will help them to get things straight. We arrived a little after 5 pm, not realizing we had to make a reservation. The server said we can eat at the bar or a high top. We chose the high top. The server was fine in the beginning. Once our food came, we asked for napkins, and she said she would get them. We had no silverware either. We were almost finished eating, and we had to ask a different server for napkins. She immediately got them and asked if we needed anything else. Our original server never came back to our table once our food was given to us. She passed by our table a couple times, but never looked at us or asked if we wanted refills or if we needed anything else. Then all of a sudden, she said something to a nearby server, walked past our table, and walked out the door. We could have easily left the building as well, as no one was paying attention, but instead we asked the manager (we believe) for our bill. We said our server was missing, and he did apologize. Besides the lack of service, we did think the food was very good.

5 Stars for the water alone… they have the good ice and its just so refreshing and keeps coming. Mix in the decadent cheese curds with melted perfection that oozes so perfectly in your mouth with each bite. Now add in the wonderful service where our server Faith was just sweet as pie and very attentive. Wrap everything up in the pretty bow that is their atmosphere with the ambiance and decor. Very well done and my favorite location of all 3 in Lake County. Thank you Black Lung Brewery!

Wonderful waitstaff and owners. We’ve always had great service, food and drinks. Lots of seating and easy to hear, not crazy loud which makes it nice to enjoy company at your table.
