We got the pad thai, green curry (little spicy but good), and the curry that has mango.
We also tried the complementary rice pudding and it was a perfect way to end the meal.
Oh and their sweet tea, OMG! It was delicious.
I was running errands at the nearby Cuban Grocery Co. and decided to finally give BSCH a try based on the 5 star reviews. It was easy to place my order online while still in my car. By the time I finished my shopping and loaded my groceries into the car, my food was almost ready.
When I walked in on a late Tuesday morning the restaurant was empty. There’s ample seating and the restaurant smelled and looked squeaky clean.
An employee welcomed me warmly and asked if I wanted water while I waited for them to finish preparing my meal. She was extremely, and genuinely, kind and showed great hospitality, down to labeling the containers.
When I got home all of the food was still hot, which is a big green flag for me.
The garlic chicken was slightly dry, but packed with tons of garlicky flavor. The choice of chicken breast, while appealing to most, was disappointing, but I still enjoyed the dish. The rice was fluffy and garnished with peas, which shows intention.
My Tom Yum soup was comforting and had just the right amount of shrimp as to not be too skimpy or too gluttonous. I do wish I had more veggies, but that’s just a personal preference.
I’ll definitely return to Bayleaf and bring my family. I recommend it if not because you don’t feel that level of hospitality these days.
Beyond the taste, we were blown away by how fast the food came out—we didn’t have to wait long at all! We finished everything off with a Mango Smoothie and Rice Pudding, which were the perfect additions to the meal.
Our waitress was so kind and helpful, making the whole experience even better. A huge thank you to the chef! We will definitely be back.
We ordered the Dragon Chicken as an appetizer at spice level 2—it was hot, flavorful, and just the tiniest bit spicy (my nose watered a little, but that’s how I like it!).
My friend got the Beef Basil Fried Rice at spice level 3 and absolutely loved it.
I had the Shrimp Mango Fried Rice at spice level 2, which was incredibly flavorful, piping hot, and the shrimp was juicy and cooked to perfection.
All of our food came out so fast—you could tell it was fresh from the kitchen! The prices were very reasonable for what we ordered.
My friend and I split the bill right down the middle (receipt pictured), so you can see my half.
They also gave us a complimentary rice pudding for dessert and it was fantastic! It almost tasted like a creamier horchata because it was cold, cinnamony, and sweet, but not too sweet (which I like).
The only thing I wish they offered were lunch specials. A couple of other Thai restaurants in the area usually have a separate lunch menu with smaller entrée portions, soup, and an egg roll. So, hat would be a nice addition. And some background music would definitely liven this place up a bit too!
But overall, we had a great experience! Our server was friendly, prompt with our meals, and kept our drinks refilled.
We’ll definitely be back!
Aastha is an absolute treasure. She was very attentive, kind, and so helpful. All the food was great and the beautiful complimentary rice pudding was a fantastic bonus too. Can’t wait to return and try more of their food.
One tip I’ll give for customers is to be aware that their mild basically means no spice.
