I’m not one to give 1 stars but I’ve never been anywhere as bad as this. Took almost 5 minutes for anyone to come to the front to greet us. Then about 7-8 minutes to be asked our drink order. I’ve never had to pay extra for fried rice which they charged $2. The miso soup tasted so bland like water. I got chicken fried rice and it was bland and I added the yum yum sauce which was SPICY! Yum yum sauce is never spicy. We were checked on only 1 time while eating. Should have listened to other reviews and not gone there and wasted $$. It was very expensive for awful food and experience. I hope they get better because we love hibachi.

So many great memories here! Amazing team. Locally owned, and they even have opera performances in the restaurant—we’re happy to support them. Great management that really cares. They make a big deal out of birthdays and celebrations. Awesome place

We went there for the first time tonight for Valentine’s Day because we wanted hibachi. I’ve heard bad reviews but we tried it anyway. It took 20 min just to put our name down bc the hostess was gone. We later saw her actually waiting tables too which is crazy. They had one chef working all the tables. Kinda sad when a place isn’t ready for Valentine’s Day, so we left and drove up to Shogun which we we shoulda just went to from the start.

I honestly can not speak on the food. What I can say is their are 6 people in the lobby waiting for orders and no one here in interested in helping us.
Never in my life have I seen such a horribly run restaurant that is supposed to be a nice place to eat. I have received better service at McDonald’s in a bad neighborhood.

I hate to make this way but it truly saddens me how much in quality Asuka has dropped over the years . I’ve lived in Tennessee my whole life and loved this restaurant. Been eating here for 10 plus years . But the food nowadays is bland and overpriced. The only thing saving it for is the sushi . I’ve been getting snow crab mountain for years and slowly it’s been shrinking it’s more like snow crab hill or small mound . Fried rice is bland and unseasoned. The hibachi if you sit at the table gets no love . Lucky I’ve found better restaurants over the years it just sucks

Horrible service. $130 for 2 people, the food was mediocre. It took 2 1/2 hours to get our food because they only have 2 chefs at any given time, per the server. Mind you, this was a Saturday night. Worst first time experience at a restaurant, ever. Save your money and google a different hibachi restaurant in the area.

Bring cash for the Chef! They are not tipped from your bill! Roll Tide dude is amazing! His performance and presentation is above all others. You might have seen the skit and heard the jokes before but this gentleman is a professional and talented chef. His food tastes better because it is made with love.

Be forewarned, other reviews about the owner may not be too far fetched.

This used to be our favorite Japanese restaurant. After not visiting for a couple of years we gave it a try last night….I honestly can’t believe how bad the food was. We had sushi and it was barely recognizable as “sushi”. No flavor, no presentation, and a far cry from what Asuka was known for.

No spice in the spicy tuna, no taste in any of the ingredients, just fat rolls of tasteless goo. The wasabi even had zero flavor. The sushi was so badly made that even when asked, the servers couldn’t identify what they had brought to our table.

I can’t comment on their hibachi, but as far as everything else, from experience to atmosphere, unfortunately I can longer recommend this restaurrant.

This place deserves 0 stars.
I have had a lot of hibachi in my life…. But this was one for the books. We ordered a side of fried rice for our almost 2 year old daughter. The rice came out within a minute of ordering it along with the clear soup and salad with ginger dressing. I took a bite of the rice and it taste like frozen fried rice with absolutely no seasoning. I tried the clear soup next and kept getting a weird buttery noodle taste.. sure enough there is elbow macaroni in the soup. At this point I have had it with the food and I’m ready to leave but not a minute later our food comes out. The plates were a mess and along came more frozen fried rice NOT hibachi style at all. The chicken and steak were very tender and the veggies taste burnt without being burnt. The yum yum sauce taste like a weird sweet and sour. We couldn’t eat another bite. We asked for a manager and after 15 min of waiting the server came back and said we could leave without even talking to the manager. The food came out entirely too quick to be freshly cooked.. truly nervous to see if I end up getting sick from the small bites I did eat.
I am originally from Murfreesboro but moved to Spring Hill recently. This is NOT hibachi. This is garbage food.

I came in and dined with my family and the experience was amazing from beginning to end. Our server Ava was extremely attentive and sweet. She even greeted me at the door! The cook made the experience fun for my daughter as well with different funny gadgets, and the food was delicious. I can definitely see myself coming again.
