We went here for a date night and it was so good. I was surprised more people weren’t there. The macaroni, greens and catfish were may favorite that I tried. The chicken was good, but not a lot of meat on the wings. The staff was very friendly as well. We will come back here.

The dressing. Full of chicken which is moist and gravy. The chicken does not need the grave for texture moisture or flavor. It can stand alone. The grave is the bonus.
The greens. Am use to greens with meat but it was a good alternative it has flavor but just a bit of spice. I wish I had some tomatoes with it
The yams are spicy with sugar not too sweet. They are good
And the sauce he grape koolaid. Great. The meal was 21. But the portions are big and it a great meal. I highly recommend

Very casual fun feeling you can grab food to go or eat in. Owner is very involved and cares about your experience. Employees are friendly. You walk up and order.
Everything I had was good . The okra is cooked to perfection, mac and cheese creamy and delicious, greens are the best, seasoned perfectly. Dressing is perfect southern cornbread dressing. The cornbread rolls are not savory but sweet. I prefer savory but still like the rolls. I highly recommend trying if you love southern soul food you won’t be disappointed.

I love how attentive the owner was. Although she was on her way to an event, she took time to make sure we were good. I got a veggie plate; green beans, yams, okra and Mac n cheese- ALL EQUALLY DELICIOUS. My husband got catfish, cabbage and yams and he thoroughly enjoyed. We both got the sweet tea, interesting but good. Small, quaint but very welcoming atmosphere. Go, you won’t be disappointed.

Chicken and dressing, black eyed peas, cabbage. If you are in the area check them out. Everything was excellent. I don’t really eat cabbage, but one of the patrons suggested it and man was it good. The young lady working there said the chicken and dressing was her favorite so I tried it and it was great. They black eyed peas were flavorful. It came with a muffin and a little cup of cranberry sauce. I’ll be a regular customer.

Got a hot italian with potato salad a couple weeks ago. The beef in the sandwhich looked and tasted like steak-ums. Overly salted as well.
Potato salad was decent but tasted like pre-made store bought.
Hoping their other menu items are worth the money.

I came a couple of Sundays ago. I got a chicken meal with mac and cheese and greens. The staff was nice and the food was fresh. The chicken was way too salty. The mac was way too salty and it didnt taste right. The greens had a good taste but had too much salt also. Im not sure what was going on that day but less salt please. I couldnt finish my plate. I want to try it again to support our local businesses but it will be some time before I try it again.

I’m from Chicago so when I heard they were opening a store front, I had to visit! I got the Italian beef with hot peppers and motz. I also got a cheese pizza puff. SO GOOD! Went right back home with the beef. And let me tell ya, Portillos can forget about it!! Will be back for the hot dog!

the greens were so salty, The Whiting fish look like it had been cooked in old old grease flavor wasn’t bad, but it was black, lima beans awful macaroni and cheese. Taste wasn’t bad but it was so dry. We ended up having to toss both plates.

It’s just the best. We tried the Chicago dog and Italian beef AND a chicken and dressing plate, all were amazing. The beans and greens were delicious on a spiritual level. Owner was so kind and warm. Go now!!
