Stopped by this spot for dinner and had a really delicious meal. The food was great all around, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Quesadilla Texana and wow, it was huge, super filling in the best way, packed with goodies and absolutely tasty. It came out super fast too. Service was good, friendly and quick without hovering. Loved the salsa bar too, nice variety to mix and match with the chips. If you’re in the area craving authentic Mexican, this place hits the spot. I’d definitely come back!

Tried this restaurant for the very first time. Margarita specials on Thursday are a big hit. Restaurant can get a little tight inside when busy, but has a nice little bar area. Menu is what we have come to expect from Mexican chain restaurants in this area. Regular combination dinners, and a few interesting specialties.In general the food was on par with other Mexican establishments. No better, no worse. Staff was friendly and attentive. The three stars are because the food is simply just okay, at least on this visit. Verde sauce was tasty, but the chicken was dry and somewhat chewy. I think this is simply the product of having everything ready to go so you get your food quickly. Frankly I wouldn’t mind waiting longer for freshly prepared food, but this is simply the norm for these style restaurants. If you’re in the SML lake area, give them a try and form your own conclusions.

First visit and certainly not my last. Went today for lunch and had an ACP with pineapple. It was very delicious. They additionally have a pick-your-own sauce area for chips at no extra charge. They even have the lunch menu items available all day for only a buck fifty more. What a steal! Service was excellent and so was the food.

This is a typical style mexican restaurant with a great esthetic. The food is fantastic and at a great price. They have a salsa bar, which is really great for customers to have variety. This was fantastic and the servers are kind and answer questions.

What an incredible tucked away place. The staff were incredible. They also have a self serve salsa bar. I’m a big believer in having the white sauce and salsa together. I had the border burrito and it was incredible. I actually had leftovers because of how massive it was. I will absolutely be back.

Read the reviews and decided to try. It lived up to its billing. Great margaritas— especially the ️ spicy! The salsa bar is great. Their chips are perfect. Queso is good too. I am a vegetarian and so am always on the lookout for places offering more than one little thing for me. Their menu has a large vegetarian section. I ordered the veg quesadilla. It was fantastic — full of lots of fresh veggies and thankfully not covered with oil, which is a common occurrence I’ve found. The tortilla of the quesadilla was unlike any I’ve had — seemed homemade. Nothing about this establishment felt like heated up frozen stuff. Seems a local favorite too. Our server was so friendly and attentive!!

I want to start of by saying I enjoyed many times dining here and purchasing food to go. Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with how my order was handled. I picked up the wrong food realizing this to late I called and thought it would be an easy fix! It wasn’t…. I called and immediately the man on the other line was explaining how it’s my fault that I picked the wrong order, but what they fail to acknowledge is they handed my partner the food and gave confirmation it was our order. They were wrong in how the situation was handled and if I wanted a refund I most go in person. Mind you I live about 15 minutes away.
Moral of the story… don’t order carry out they will gas light you and make you feel crazy when you’re the “customer”…. I was simply trying to enjoy lunch on my break but they made it difficult and made me look like the bad guy. Please to the owners of this great restaurant. You have people working for you who argue with customers instead of fixing the problem this was an awful experience and I recommend everyone to stay away. I asked for a refund not for anything free. The worker was an older gentleman that not only failed at his job but instead of helping made things much worse.
El Torreno Mexican Bar and grill r you deserve better and should have individuals that actually help with your establishment. Your staff shouldn’t try to pick fights with paying customers. This is not customer service. The level of unprofessional was just too much and quite frankly unacceptable. To conclude my statement I will not be returning to this El torreno and will warn my inner circle from visiting.
