My rating: 6.0/10. The restaurant is nice and small, nestled within the shops of Yorkville, easy to get to and has a good hole in the wall vibe. Staff are very polite and attentive. Only complaint on the service side is that the wait times for dishes varied heavily between tables. Groups that arrived and ordered after us got their food before, as was the case for a couple tables later in the night. Overall timing of dishes was infrequent. The food was a disappointment. When ordering they didn’t ask for spice levels on any of the dishes, nor were they displayed on the menu, which typically isn’t a good sign. The butter chicken, my personal favourite, was quite bland and the chicken tasted as if it was just grilled and then plopped in the sauce, without much flavour to it. The sweet chilli prawns were nice, particularly because the prawns were good quality and large. The saag paneer sauce was tasty, but the cheese was more crumbly than paneer usually is. Appetizers were just fried veggies without much flavour and were nothing special. I probably wouldn’t come back. Had high hopes because there were some very positive reviews, but compared to good Indian food, this is nothing special.

I am a fan of Indian food and have tried Indian food in different places. I can say the food tasted merely similar to the original one. Also, the food was too oily. The only eatable item was lentil soup and samosa.
The presentation was even worse, Mangolassi was served in paper bowl!! Very difficult to drink!

I’ve been dining at Utsav for over a decade and the food here is consistently incredible. Today my partner and I had the fixed price menu, which was an amazing value for money. We had the chicken tikka app, butter chicken, saag paneer, sweet chili prawns, garlic naan and rice. Everything was perfect. Service here is also wonderful – the staff are so friendly

Cute little Indian restaurant tucked away in Yorkville. My husband and I shared a Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, Basmati Rice, and Garlic Naan and it was just more than enough. I would have ordered more garlic naan if I had less self-control. The sauces were so tasty and the portions were very reasonable. The service was great, good recommendations without being pushy.

Utsav Indian restaurant is a great place to hangout with family and friends. The ambiance is so good, the staff is so friendly. We ordered chicken briyani and peas pulav, they are so fresh and kids loved it. My favourite is their naan varieties especially the panned kulcha was so good and it goes good with their panner gravey.

Entree: Lamb Rogan Josh (Spicy) I can’t take the spicy like I used to, I ordered mild and it was still too spicy, the server was nice to bring out a side of yogurt to help cool down my mouth.
All in all the dinner was delicious tasty and I went back a couple of weeks later just to have an assortment of appetizers and a glass of sparkling wine.

This place is a very good. I’ve been to a few Indian restaurants and sometimes there can be a very strong smell of the food but this restaurant has a very pleasant smell. The ambiance is very good and the staff are very professional. They don’t rush you and they are very pleasant to you. As for the food, the portions are perfect and the taste is absolutely incredible. The butter chicken is a little spicier than normal but then again, we did not request any different next time we would not change it as it was delicious. The garlic bread had a little too many garlic cloves towards the centre so I probably would not order the garlic naan again or maybe ask for less garlic but that’s just a personal thing. You won’t be disappointed. This place is very good and not overly priced. For me the atmosphere was what I wanted with my partner on a Friday night. Will definitely be back.

Our 11 year old son chose this as he loves a curry. We really enjoyed our meal, the service was very attentive and friendly. We got there early as we didn’t have a reservation and they managed to give us a table for 4. It was busy and full when we left just after 8.
