Stopped in here during Thunder on the Mountain Fireworks show. Live music, people dancing, friendly bartenders (a bunch of em). Most lively bar I’ve ever seen in a town of less than 200 people, not that I’ve been to many of them. Awesome decor, the music was good, the fireworks outside were cool, the laid back atmosphere was great. Not sure how lively the place usually is, sure it’s a lot more toned down, but would definitely be worth stopping by if you are out here camping or something. Didn’t try food or drink but hopefully I can one day if I ever end up back at the end of the highway! Not sure if the place actually has vacancy as an inn but if so would probably be cool to crash here as well.

Waited almost 30 minutes for a simple order of fish and chips while there was hardly anybody else in the restaurant. Our fries we’re pretty much raw and cold. The fish was mushy. Have heard that it changed owners. Will not go the again.

Love the owners, LOVE the bartender Sarah! So friendly and always makes you feel like family. Her sweet personality mixed with her ability to make you yummy drinks is what makes the Log Inn my favorite bar in the PNW. Food is delicious, great atmosphere, would give this place 10 stars if I could!

We sat in the restaurant portion, which was very hot and stuffy and full of flies. The flies would not leave us alone as we waited 30+ minutes for our food to show up. I finally asked if we could have it to go so that we eat our food in an atmosphere that wasn’t so hot and loaded with houseflies. I have never seen a restaurant use the heel of the bread to make a grilled cheese sandwich until now, the grilled cheese sandwich was so greasy it was almost un-edible, but when you combine that with the stale bread, it was a total bust. The hamburgers we ordered were the greasiest burgers we have ever been served, the buns were so greasy they were hard to hold onto, and when you went to pick the burgers up, Grease was running out of them. If you like food with a whole Lotta Grease, you might love this place. If you’re looking for decent quality food, I would skip this restaurant. They are extremely slow and the food sucks.

It’s a small-town bar grill, it’s log burger was great. You might see all kinds of different folks visit dusty riders of the Mt trails or snowmobile riders to hunters and m/c bike riders. 8)

My burger was great but my date ordered prime rib and 60% of it was fat. Didn’t get our drinks for about 30 minutes and then still didn’t get our food for another 30. For only being there once though I think you should still give it a try. You never know, maybe it was an off day for them.

We’ve been in Elk River many times, but today was 1st time we had eaten at Elk Butte Log Inn and it was excellent food and very clean. We highly recommend it as a place to eat.
