Good service
The crabs are fresh. You have to all to have them cleaned. I forgot recently but the seasoning was so perfectly added with the butter -chef kiss
Local spot that makes you feel like you’re on vacation.
We ordered the rainbow trout which comes with lump crab meat and a side, and the broiled combination deluxe which is flounder, shrimp, scallops, 1 crab cake and a side. Overall, the seasoning was not there. They’re telling the truth when they say seasoned with old bay- because baby, THAT’S IT. Lol not even butter. I requested additional seasoning and the waitress said they season it lightly bc some can’t handle it. Not spicy, but seasoning. She brought me more old bay. Complex flavors and/ or satisfying flavors were absent from all of our seafood except the crab cake.
Anyway, the service is as find and the hostess was very nice. Overall, we wouldn’t go back. 2 entrees and an appetizer ran us $70. That’s a lot to not be satisfied.
We hadn’t been for a year or so, yet always and forever went to the original. Decided to give Voorhees another try. He ordered jumbo fried shrimp, they looked great, our granddaughter fried clams and coleslaw.. myself the platter of fried scallops. Our grandaughter’s was alright, coleslaw not tasty at all. My scallops were raw, I took two bites of the baked potato which was overcooked and didn’t touch the coleslaw.. I did however put one scallop on my husband’s plate because he enjoys them too. We showed our wattress my scallops. She went to leave the potatoes and coleslaw as if I’d wait to eat it cold while they cooked new scallops, no I wasn’t hungry. I did have a cup of decent shrimp corn chowder. Pictured is the scallop I had given my husband.. raw!
Lastly and what I feel is most important. We were there roughly 4:30.. there was no heat yet we were dressed warm. Throughout dinner the owner who I recognized from being in the news media was up on a ladder several times.. checking the heat. As we left, many people were coming in to dine, no heat. Why wouldn’t you simply close on a very cold windy evening and fix the heat? Instead of allowing diners in? After our experience, I can see why. We always say, let’s just try this place one more time, with hopes that it’s changed. I’m sorry to say it hasn’t
Pretty upsetting, I had high hopes.
