Unpretentious eatery off the main drag serving Korean dishes, inventive sushi rolls & Asian fusion.

Hidden gem of a sushi place! We loved the Kenosha Roll (!!), and staples like spicy tuna and rainbow rolls. Sapporo served in a frosted glass and attentive server who was so patient with our crew of kiddos. They LOVED the fried rice and gyoza

Soon’s Korean-inspired sushi is the best you’ll find in Kenosha.
Before and now, under their new management, they continue to serve the most flavorful experience you can find in all of Kenosha County.

Wow! The reviews were absolutely awesome. The portions of sushi were truly unbelievable. I normally can feel comfortable with 4 rolls…. I had to take half of my order home as the meal was plentiful. Fresh salmon, fresh tuna, fresh eel… all prepared in the specific rolls and were just really tasty and fresh. The service and staff are warm and friendly. Oh. And being new in the area… it is a quaint restaurant with all new and updated inside for sure…. Truly a local treasure I’m sure.

Soons is a hidden gem in a neighborhood in Kenosha. You’d never think this tiny little building would serve sushi that tastes as good as this does! Soon works every day and is as hands on as any employee she has. They make you feel like family every time you walk through the door. We go for the sushi, our most recent visit I ordered shrimp fried rice and wish I hadn’t waited so long, it was amazing. Stop in while you can, it seems they will be closing their doors in 2023, definitely a loss to the town of Kenosha.

I’ve been here before and have always loved it but this most recent time wasn’t the greatest. I called an order in for pick-up and when I arrived, no one acknowledged me. There was a man doing something on a computer who looked right at me but did not signal anyone to assist. There were 3 people working on food that were in my line of site and someone else who appeared to be on their phone. After a little more than 5 minutes, the woman on her phone came up to me. My food has been done the whole time. Kind of disappointing customer service. There was only one other customer inside waiting for food so it’s not as if they were busy.
My next frustration comes in that they made one of my rolls wrong. It was supposed to have unagi sauce and fish eggs on top. I asked for no fish eggs and didn’t get the sauce either. When I asked for sauce on the side, they gave me the smallest side cup I’ve seen. My guess is it was 1 oz. They charged me $1 for sauce that was supposed to be on my roll.
My final frustration came from my order of Edamame. The soy bean pods were way over cooked and had no salt on them at all. They were so over cooked that they’d lost their vibrant green color and were instead grayish. I was so disappointed. They just didn’t taste good.
I did give Soon’s four stars because I’ve been here before and haven’t had any issues but its been a couple years. I was so excited to learn they re-opened, unfortunately, the experience wasn’t what I’d remembered. The sushi, less what I mentioned above, was good. It just wasn’t five star quality.

Great atmosphere, great host. So much food per roll and such great, high quality rolls. Soon came out and talked to us and she was so genuine and sweet. They really take care of you here and by far best sushi in Kenosha. I’m a big guy and couldn’t finish my rolls because it was so much food. Highly, highly recommend.

Soon’s is open again! I enjoyed my favorite Rainbow Roll, with a Sapporo beer, miso soup and an amazingly “oishi” (delicious , in Japanese) seaweed salad. Even though Soon and Bob have sold the restaurant, they still like to stop by and say Hi. When I was visiting, Soon was there, and it was very nice to see her.
Stop in to greet the new crew as Soon’s Sushi Cafe continues to serve really good food to our community!

Came here because of a recommendation from a friend. We ordered miso soup, kimchi, fried octopus, shrimp fried rice, and dragon roll.
The miso soup was good. Kimchi was spicy but wasn’t sour at all. Shrimp fried rice tasted like the only thing added was salt, and was mushy like the cook used freshly cooked rice. The fried octopus was ok, but the sauce didn’t really complement. The dragon roll was good, I really liked the grilled eel on top.
Sushi is good, skip everything else.

I woule not go back to this place. I can tell it’s under new ownership. The female making the sushi was using her bare hands to roll and put together the sushi .
The order I placed was not good at all and I’ve had it several times at this place. The ginger sauce tasted like Sriracha and not like ginger when soon made it. Overall I give this place a 0. I paid $35 for 2 hand rolls 2 house salads a 2 pc Nigiri.. NEVER AGAIN !
