A nice breakfast spot. Order at front and seat yourself kinda deal with reasonable prices. Football and golf were on but it doesnt have a sports bar vibe. Or at least not on Sunday at 9:30am. Other than ordering at the front, you wouldn’t know it’s limited service because our server was warm and attentive.

$7.50! Best.breakfast deal in Portland with an amazing peaceful setting. Great service, nothing fancy. As the server said, ‘it all comes down to who’s cooking the eggs and Matt’s a good egg cooker.

I’m visiting from out of state and took my dad here for lunch. Was looking for something light so ordered the chicken Caesar salad. It was, hands-down, the worst chicken Caesar salad I’ve ever had. It was swimming in dressing, and they gave us an extra side of dressing each! The chicken was all dark meat; so dark that you couldn’t tell it apart from the dark brown croutons. The chicken also simply did not taste good. They had cut it down to pellet sized pieces, and I’m not sure how they cooked it, but it was simply not good.
The staff were gracious and kind, although they did seem surprised that we sent them back and ordered something different. We both went for the BLT on sourdough, and tots. I saw them freshly make the bacon, which was great to see. But the sandwich as a whole Felt small and insignificant. And the tots were dark, as if perhaps the oil needed to be changed out. Or possibly just overdone.
All in all, while I hear good things about the golf course itself I cannot recommend the café. Again, the staff were kind… But as an establishment, the food is sorely lacking.

Fun and engaging staff. Great diner type food and very good bar service.

The immediate problem faced is the fact that the grill is a countertop service in an expanded hallway serving multiple uses (grill, conference area, store, and golf club) without its own seating apart from the expanded hall space. Only two four top tables were on far walls not near the grill counter and were used by persons not eating but talking. Food offered was decent for the price and service was good too. But the setting and atmosphere sorely lacked cohesion and thought as a dining spot. I had to sit at a table within a lobby area of the conference center next door as no seating was near the grill. Setting of space for this use alone was definitely not thought out by management before advertising to the public to eat there. The space needs work if they wish to get foot traffic off the street.. I eat breakfast out regularly but I am not rushing back to this grill as it isn’t a comfortable place to have breakfast. With other breakfast places on Woodstock and Sellwood nearby dedicated to the same clientele…they need to rethink their grill seating fast.

Excellent Breakfast – I was very happy with my Breakfast Sammy! Great price, ice cold draft beer, chill vibe. $8 for the Birdie Breakfast Special – 2 Eggs, 2 Bacon, Potatoes & Toast – No better breakfast deal in SE PDX & it was really tasty! The staff is awesome.

Old old city owned course. I imagine the kitchen and serving staff are in something of program. Very nice but a little shaky.
This is a great place for old gals to golf inside the city.

Event space was perfect. Seated 120. Buffet and bar handled the crowd.

It’s a great little bar with good food. It’s never crowded. You don’t need to golf.

I’ve been here a couple times for breakfast and it’s exactly what I need. Limited choices, but I didn’t come here for choice. The guy is super nice and checks to make sure you have anything you need. He does a good job with the food too. I keep meaning to come back more often, glad they open early. I don’t even golf!
