This is the most genuine and effortless 5 star review I would give over and over again. The food is unmatched and cannot be recreated anywhere else. It’s literally love and magic and every flavor profile wrapped into so many great dishes. The escarole and bean soup? My Italian Nana would be so proud. The chicken and waffles is a staple that remains a staple for a reason, it’s flawless and hits every note. The cacio e pepe scrambled eggs is somehow so simple yet so elevated at the same time, it’s a winner. Do NOT sleep on the lunch bowl *add crispy chicken for non vegans* it’s fresh, it’s flavorful, you smile while you’re eating it. And the staff? The kindest, most friendly, and happy crew of people, every day. Clearly, a true testament to ownership. Will keep coming back!

Stopped in for Brunch after the Asbury Park Santa Run 5k. Was busy and was a bit of wait on the waitlist. No reservations. Once seated the staff and servers were great. They were patient with our group and made sure we had everything we needed. Some of our favorites were the Ube drink, the Belly Up sandwhich, and the chicken n waffles. Def would recommend!

From beach day breakfast-grabs, to brunches & lovely pop-up dinners, Cardinal Provisions has always been our go-to date spot in Asbury. Once engaged, we knew exactly who to call when planning our intimate engagement party. Let me tell you, Katy & team really outdid themselves this time around. Our January holiday engagement party at Cardinal Provisions was nothing short of perfect, through & through.
Admittedly, we were nervous to plan such an important event in the midst of the holiday season, but Katy made sure to keep the planning process SO light-hearted & stress-free. Being slammed with work & holiday craziness, we didn’t want to fret over the little things, like decorations, so Katy made sure to keep the space decorated from the holidays—so cute! The space is full of personality, as always, but this particular night it felt warm, intimate, and effortlessly stylish. It was such a cozy & elevated evening, which was exactly the ambiance we were striving for. Tunes were great too—we got to tap into their speaker system & play our spotify playlist all night.
Katy came up with the most fun cocktail menu with options that our entire family, no matter the age, would love: a pile table to graze on all night filled with jams, cheeses, meats, homemade focaccia, crudite, cesar wedges & some of the best dips ever, a full station loaded with plenty of Italian food to go around & the best passed apps ever, that our family simply cannot stop talking about. Her attention to detail was impeccable–during one of our many planning telephone calls, I had briefly mentioned how much I would love votive candles on the tables to compliment the bud vases–Katy went out & surprised us with them. Who does that!? Everything felt thoughtfully curated & intentional — exactly what we wanted for such a meaningful gathering!
When it came time for dessert, just as much of a hit as the rest of the meal. We couldn’t pick which cake to settle on, so Katy said, why do you have to choose!? This is the kind of positivity I needed in my life. To keep up with our cocktail party theme, she suggested subbing cake for cupcakes, which allowed us to have a variety of cakes that we were so torn between (framboise & honey rosemary). The homemade cookie tray was DEMOLISHED in the blink of an eye & the xiuxos, chef’s kiss. EVERY DARN TIME.
The staff: above & beyond! Stef & Karen, you guys rock. Hands-down, just the best bunch to work with. They were SO attentive, organized, gracious, PATIENT, & genuinely excited for us, which made the night feel that much more personal. Everything flowed smoothly from start to finish, allowing us to be fully present with our family & friends instead of worrying about logistics. Stef noticed that I had been socializing & hadn’t had water all night. She ran over, placed one in front of me & ran away. I mean, just really, you cannot get better than this bunch. The smallest details mean the most sometimes.
Celebrating here was the best decision—we couldn’t have imagined a better place to kick off this next chapter of our lives. The sincerest THANK YOU to the entire Cardinal team.

Cardinal Provisions is a 10/10 experience every time! I always love ordering the chicken and waffles! Also really love the xuxos! So many creative options on the menu and everything is always fresh! Great atmosphere for friend gatherings or dates. Unfortunately you can’t make a reservation for a party less than 8 people (which I get because it’s an intimate space) but if you show up 30 minutes ahead of the time you want to eat, you can put your name on the wait list and they’ll contact you once your seat is available. Which leaves time to explore the nearby business if you choose. Cardinal is especially busy on the weekends. It’s also dog friendly with outdoor seating.

Can not recommend this place enough for brunch. My goddess it’s truly amazing. The biscuit brisket Benedict was one of the best things I ever had in my life. And was so massive I could barely finish it. Each table has a unique set of salt and pepper shakers which is really fun.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast and had a great experience! I ordered the salmon toast, and it was absolutely delicious fresh and well-prepared. The atmosphere was calm and cozy, and the place was clean and well organized. The service was excellent and fast, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a quality breakfast!

Hands down my favorite restaurant. From the ever-satisfying lunch bowl (add Italian tuna and ask for extra chimicurri) to the incredible specials and the decadent skillet cake of the season. Delicious eatery nestled on Bangs Ave near the Cookman Ave intersection. The hot, fresh coffee was outsourced from another local favorite, Turnstyle Coffee Roasters in Belmar. The staff was helpful and attentive. The food was tasty especially the beet-horseradish cream cheese on the Gravlax sandwich. We dined al fresco, which was lovely, highly recommend.
