I’m so glad Tin reopened his sushi restaurant! The menu has all the classics from the original spot plus some amazing new Lao dishes. Everything was super fresh and made to order.
The mussels are my favorite — the sauce they’re baked in is so good I ended up pouring it over my rice. My partner got the minced beef; it had a good kick to it. Overall, everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared.
You can call in for takeout, but I recommend ordering through their website to avoid the extra fees you usually get on DoorDash or Uber Eats.
Right now their hours are 5–9 on weekdays and 5–10 on weekends, but I’m sure they’ll extend them once they’ve been open a little longer.

So glad to have this amazing Sushi chef back in Merriman Valley! So close to the former Sushi Katsu. Menu was extensive. Visited on the soft opening first day, and there was temporary longer wait and item outages. These did not deter me as the food was well worth the wait. The whole operation was a family effort from servers to the chefs, which made for a friendly and warm experience. Parking lot is small, and location is less cramped than the former but could be even bigger based on the success. Excited to come back and try hibachi!

First time at Zap Zap last night and the food was OUTSTANDING! Extremely fresh fish and every dish was tasty. Some of the best crab Rangoons and shrimp rolls we had. Also the chicken lo mein sauce was one of a kind. We will absolutely be back!

First time here & it was terrific! This is a small place, but luckily we got there shortly after 5pm on a Thursday & didn’t have to wait for a table. We got 2 appetizers: their Crab Salad (similar to spicy kani salad) piled on top of fresh seasoned seaweed (not the neon green seaweed salad variety) & Shrimp Rolls (spring roll wrapped & fried with shrimp & taro root). I ordered the Cannon Roll (spicy tuna, crab topped with scallop, masago & jalapeño) & a Laotian dish called Nam Kao (a crispy rice dish with pork skin, peanuts, scallions & cilantro). I have never tasted anything like it! My husband ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen, which was so flavorful!
Overall, 10/10! And our server was so friendly, kind & helpful. Go check this place out!! Easily my top 3 Asian joints in NEO!

Nice little spot for some yummy sushi and Lao food! Can’t wait til they start serving Hibachi. Keep in mind that they just opened up and still trying to figure things out. Hopefully they get more help and can expand for more seating area.

I got the dragon and cannon roll. They tasted good, they’re larger than sushi I get from other places. The sushi rice was burned, I could smell it burning before they brought my entree out. You can see the charred bits on some of the pieces. Other than that, it was okay.

I love this place. Every time I come here the food gets better. Great owners, great staff, great prices, and amazing sushi. Best place you’ll find around Akron/Cuyahoga Falls

Friendly staff, clean and modern atmosphere, and good food! Their ponzu sauce doesn’t have bonito flakes so several vegetarian options. Tried three vegetarian rolls: cucumber, squash, radish. The radish slapped.
Seaweed salad was not wakame, I believe it’s kombu seaweed. Very tasty regardless.
They’re still waiting on habatchi and liquor license but still worth a visit before these are in place.
Have been excited for this since I miss Sushi Katsu a lot!
Hope to see the sweet potato roll in the future.
