First timer. I had the Caldo de Res with a big Coke for lunch. It was delicious! Huge pieces of meat, potatoes, zucchini, carrots! Homemade tortillas, not store bought! Menu is very authentic. I will be back to try the cactus! The restaurant was very clean and the cooks had their hair covered with chef hats, which is actually hard to find nowadays. Usually people just slap a hat on and call it good while their hair still hangs out of the sides.

A great, truly authentic Mexican lunch.
No complimentary chips and salsa, but don’t let that keep you away. This is a small, clean and friendly staffed restaurant that has an authentic selection of Mexican dishes. I had the usual carne asada and my wife had the chicken enchiladas. I ordered an extra chili toreado, but it does come with one. The chilies were serranoes instead of jalapenos that are usually served at the Americanized Mexican restaurants. They were good. The beef was a little tougher than most I have had, but it was okay. The chicken enchiladas were good and packed with shredded chicken. The meals come with beans, rice and a little lettuce /salad. They provide a selection of two salsas for the food. Hand made fresh tortillas come with the meal. You can watch them being made. The tortillas and the friendly service really stood out. There are several dishes on their menu that seem to be big hits with the locals; the tacos and the sopes. Next trip, I will give them a try. If you eat here be sure to order a chili toreado to go with your meal. We were glad we gave this place a try.

If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection “Jalapeno Highway” by Spike S. on Yelp. I’ve probably been there.

This place needs to fix their soda fountain or maybe their syrup is expired, the chicken was fantastic however the tortilla chips taste like they’re more than a day old no heat on them so pretty stale. I hope this place can figure it out, business after business has went bankrupt in this same location, would like to see something stay but if this is what they’re serving I don’t see them being there that long.

We loved this restaurant!
Very homey and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful.

They have an open kitchen with three women cooking everything fresh. They make their own tortillas corn and flour.

The jalepenos are pickled but they are not the typical jarred jalepenos. These are much better. I wonder if they make them themselves?

My husband got the Chicken Quesadillia. We’ve never seen a quesadillia like this before! It’s almost like a Mexican sandwich on a wrapped tortilla. He was given the option of corn or flour. Wonderfully fresh with lettuce, tomatoes, and jalepenos. He got full on just half of the quesadillia.

I had the Sope and the Huarache. For both I requested refried beans and no cheese. Both are served on corn tortillas. Although the Sope is thicker on the rounded edge and crisper. The Huarache is similar to a tostada but longer and has a softer shell. I ordered refried beans on the side. But got too full to eat it all.

The food is excellent!
We like healthier, lighter, fresh homemade foods.
The food here is authentic Mexican food.

The restaurant is clean and well kept.
They do not offer chips and salsa.
The don’t have iced tea or alcohol. They have bottled water and soft drinks.

They do have Mexican cake and cheesecakes available, too!
We were both too full for dessert.

We will return soon. We are so pleased that we stopped in this comfortable Mexican Cafe.

The food is delicious, the closest thing to authentic Mexican food. The service is excellent, the only thing is that it would be good if they invested in improving their facilities.
