In 1983, Durham native Stuart Henderson decided to travel north and open one of his original hot dog stands in Roxboro, NC. Five years later, Mr. Henderson built a beautiful restaurant with plenty of seating, a stained glass wall depicting a rural Person County scene, and a menu that boasted of homemade biscuits, burgers, sandwiches, BBQ and of course, hot dogs. Fast forward 37 years, and Stuart’s Family Grille is one of Roxboro’s signature family-owned restaurants. Our team is proud to continue Stuart’s legacy of serving quality food to all our Person County neighbors!

Normally, Stuart’s is pretty good. A great local place with some great food options compared to the rest of the town. But I went by today & was highly disappointed. Parking lot was not salted or scraped for employees or patrons, neither was the drive thru. I ordered stew & it was COLD! Hush puppies were hard & burnt.

Enjoyed the food here, especially the biscuits. The biscuits and gravy combo with scrambled eggs was very tasty and the portions were very large. Service was friendly and fast. The tea unfortunately tasted old or the container had not been cleaned regularly, which was somewhat of a buzz kill. I still recommend this place and will try them again.

Staff is outstanding….food prepared like homestyle cooking. The French Toast is the best I’ve EVER eaten, and I’ve been to many restaurants that serve it..ie..Cracker Barrel…it can’t compare to Stuarts breakfast!! Always good
