Social Profile:

In May 1957, Angelo Ricci opened a delicatessen on the corner of SW 153rd Street and 6th Avenue SW in Burien. Angelo learned his family’s method of Italian cooking from his father Michele, a grocer who had immigrated from Italy to Osawatomie, Kansas in 1911. Michele always emphasized the importance of the quality and freshness of ingredients. Angelo and his family rapidly expanded, offering a full dining room and lounge by the early 1960s. Angelo made a name for himself and his restaurant by bringing food from around the country and world to Burien. Now, over half a century later, Angelo’s children and grandchildren carry on his legacy.

Circa-1950s Italian restaurant serving red-sauce classics in an old-world setting.

Never been to this local institution, though my wife’s family was very familiar with. Generally we hit up the Italian place down the street and honestly I like that one a little better. Easy 4 Star rating. Everyone’s meals looked great, tasted great, and the amount of spaghetti my wife got was a lot – like A LOT! My in-laws Puttanesca was 2/3’s my wife’s offering. All three were enjoyed. My meal – a large house pizza was meh! at best. Not bad, but not memorable. Premade crust was okay, seemed light on the meats, and really was just okay.

Angelo’s of Burien was the perfect venue for one of my coworker’s retirement parties. With around 30 guests, the staff managed our large group with exceptional service and organization. The restaurant was immaculate, comfortable, and beautifully set up to celebrate our special occasion.

The pasta was an absolute delight, bursting with rich, authentic Italian flavors. The warm, freshly baked bread was irresistible, and we couldn’t resist asking for seconds. Every dish arrived perfectly cooked, showcasing the quality and care that went into each preparation.

The service was friendly, attentive, and professional, making the entire evening feel effortless and enjoyable. Angelo’s truly made this memorable occasion even more special. I highly recommend this place for any group gathering or simply for a delightful Italian meal.

Angelo’s is a gem. My daughter loves the salad, and my son can’t get enough of the bread. Our go-to dishes are the seafood cannelloni and Roquefort steak. The red wine reduction on the steak is “chef’s kiss”! It’s the best steak I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot of places. Whether you’re looking for a great Sunday night dinner, or celebrating something special, Angelo’s is the perfect spot. The staff is attentive and delightful. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant.

Sometimes you go to a long-standing local place and find a treasure… Sometimes you find a place that people just go to as a tradition. This is the latter.
I tried the Italian Pot Roast…I was really looking forward to a homey meal.. Too little pasta with sauce served on the side… Instead of potentially sopping up the gravy with my pasta it had red sauce. They didn’t ask if I’d want it plain. This was odd to me. The dish was salty and I didn’t get any love from it. Even the spumoni was lackluster… Which was surprising.
Neither the food or service impressed me here. Servers barely spoke to me, even when I asked questions. For an old school Italian American place I’d rather go to Vince’s down the street. It was busy here though… So Burien appreciates this place.

We had our Sam8 club Christmas party here. Irma took great care of us. It was a fairly large group. She was pleasant, organized and always checking back and making sure we had everything we needed and that our beverages were fresh. Our chef, Alex, created dishes that were flavorful and served hot.
Thank you for making our event a success.

I had never been here before, but a friend who has been going here with his family since he was a child brought me here. From the moment you step inside the place, it smells amazing! The brucshetta was absolutely perfect, and the lamb shank fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The orechiette I could tell was made that day, and the sauce was just . It’s easily one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at in Seattle, and I will definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for top-tier Italian food.

Nice people, friendly atmosphere, but the food is plain and definitely overpriced for what you get.

I ordered two pasta dishes, the bolognese with meatballs and seafood orecchiette. With two glasses of wine + tip it was $100.

Won’t be going back.

THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING ITALIN RESTAURANT IN SEATTLE!

The service was okay, but pretty friendly. And the food was amazing

Seafood Cannelloni, I would highly recommend the Seafood Cannelloni, this is literally the best thing I’ve ever had in my life, I happen to love dishes are fishy, this one is perfectly right on point! It’s everything they described, Crepes stuffed with crab and with their house wine is just amazing ❤️‍ ❤️‍
