Stopped in on a whim and was glad we found it. Atmosphere is intimate and relatively quiet. Our server was Lexi and she did a great job recommending items on the menu. The food and the cocktails were fantastic!! All of the little touches that elevate your dining experience were appreciated. Definitely planning on coming back.

Located in Abbotstown, PA it is one of the best restaurants in the area.
I ordered the Autumn Caprese & the French Onion Soup. Both were really good, could have been excellent with minor improvements. (The soup could have had a few fewer croutons to leave more room for the soup & the fried green tomatoes need about 30 seconds more to get a golden crunch on them.)
My companion ordered the chicken and waffles and told me that is their go to dish and one of the dishes the place is known for… It looked fantastic and the portion was very generous.
Service was prompt & friendly.
The atmosphere is nice and has been modernized in a way that still manages to retain some of the buildings historic charm.

Stopped by on way to Virginia. Ordered Tuna nachos, CSB Burger, and Kids cheese pizza . The appetizer was excellent and tuna fresh. My burger was more than a handful. The grandson pizza was just right. Prices reasonable and worth a stop. Detour off Rt 15 and you will not be sorry for lunch. Don’t forget the history behind this tavern since 1763 continually run.

We celebrated our 1 year anniversary here for lunch. The turtle soup and brussel sprout salad was fantastic and my husband loved the club. Definitely recommend!

I had not eaten here in many years. My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary here tonight. Everything looked and tasted great. We tried French Onion Soup, Crab Dip, Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, and Crabcake sandwich with fries. Our server kept the water glasses full and promptly took away empty plates. My only complaint is entrees were served too soon after appetizer/soup was served. We were only 25% finished with apps before dinners were sitting in front of us. Courses should have been timed better.

The staff were very nice, the food was cooked fast, and the prices were fair. I would call this central PA nice. It’s not the best I’ve had but far from the worst. The copper topped table, had a unique aroma though, a cross between pennies & Clorox that was hard to get over while eating. Still wouldn’t discourage me from coming back.
The turtle soup was eh, just not as flavorful as I would have liked but that’s just my preference because I have been told over and over again it’s their top seller. Now the burger was fantastic. Nice medium rare, fried egg on top, and crispy fries. If you want a good burger this place delivered. I took a customer here and she got the crispy brussels salad and was thrilled with it. I’ll be come back.

Went tonight on 1/29/26. New thing for Thursday burger night: no customization of burgers. You can’t even get the sauce on the side. So unless you have an allergy to something you are SOL. So been going here do the past few years by myself or with family and tonight was a last. Waitress was terrible and they had to ask if we could have one burger no sauce and one with it one the side. We were told in the future they would not make these accommodations. Yea not a different bun or cheese or anything else that we asked. Just the sauce on their special to not be on the burger is too much for their cooks to accommodate. Nothing will be done for any of their burgers. Just want to make sure everyone is aware of this before going in for the future.
